Far Far Away!
Alright guys, a while ago i purchased some powerline adapters, working perfectly so far.. i've seen an Apple TV device for sale and wondered if it was possible to have the powerline adapter my my room thats plugged into the pc, plugged into some sort of switch, and then my pc plugged into the switch.

would this work, I think they are called switches, correct me if i'm wrong, thanks.

Yep that would be fine.
Would you have other things connecting to the network in your room? If only the the ATV you can just plug that straight into your powerline and then from the other powerline into your router.
If you've got a few things then something like this would do the trick..

so ATV/PC/Xbox etc -- switch -- powerline -- powerline -- router.

edit - oh, and if you have an old router then you may be able to use that as a swich but will have to reconfigure it first (google it!)

is a switch the right thing id have to get?

all i have in my room is PC, the router is down stairs.

oh and one last question, can any one reccomened me a decent switch, cheapish etc, thanks again

netgear 5-port compact switch for example?

Assuming you can get away with 5 ports something like this would be fine.

You probably don't need Gigabit, but it won't hurt, and it doesn't cost much extra.

ok so I assume that the ethernet cable from my powerline adapter would go into slot 1, and then from the pc the ethernet cable would go into slot 2... and internet would auto recognise on my pc etc?

It doesn't matter which ports you use. Just plug the Powerline adapter into one of the ports, and plug everything else in as you see fit. There's nothing to configure, and it should all just work.
