HNC to HND?

hia Ive been studying for a HNC in instrumentation engineering the last two years and have just recently found out ill have to graduate next may due to issues with my project.

i looked into joining royal fleet auxilalry as a systems engineer officer but they said i need a HND.

considering i haven't yet graduated and achieved my HNC do you think its feasible for me to cover the other modules that are exclusive to the HND and gain the 60 extra credits to obtain HND??

otherwise it looks like ill have to wait and do a degree....

thoughts?

If it's same as in my day you can do an HND and upgrade it to a degree with an extra year. That's what I did. The best the thing is you can say you have an HND and a degree despite doing to same years (3) as doing a straight degree.

Think you've already answered your question tbh, the people's who's going to know how to go about it will be the people at the college, they'll have final say. You say you're finding out you'll have to graduate due to issues with your project, but surely you should be close to finishing anyways, didn't think HNC's went past 2 years?

I went back to college to do a second HNC, they let me use units attained from my first HNC to count towards my second HNC, I would have thought they'll either let you do the extra units this year, or wait until you've finished it and let you enrol for another year to add the extra units?

only thing that's stopping me from graduating is my project.

HNC is 180 credits and HND is 240.

my thinking is while waiting to graduate next may, do the other modules and graduate with HND rather than HNC.

saves me waiting till next year to top up.
