People running in the office - does this annoy anyone else?

Our office is so small, there's on the 2 of us in it and I don't think we could get more than 4 paces before face planting a wall.

We have a couple of office runners, there's absolutely no need for it considering at most they're only ever 20ft from their desks!

Haven't seen anyone run in my office but there are a few who take their shoes off and walk around the office in their socks.

Really touches a nerve, not sure why I care, just annoys me.

Why do they annoy you? I think it's like a home comfort to not have to wear shoes and makes people happier and less irritated.

Sometimes I wish those shoes with the retractable wheels were socially acceptable just to get down some of the longer corridors a bit faster.

I could never use those as a child, and they were such a waste of money they were like £70 and a child would out grow them months down the line.

Runnners - when someone brings their bloody kids in and they start running around.. i hope they trip over the recycling paper boxes!

Running makes you look busy y0! ;)

Probably just this. Makes them look busy and important. I only ever used to run to get the phone if it was ringing.

I used to take my slippers to my old job :D

If they do it when management is about, then they're probably just trying to look important and busy.

Our receptionist runs back and forth across the office, I can't say I've given it any thought other than noticing it.

I work for an American company in the Czech Republic, they're both polar opposites in this regard, Americans wear sneakers/trainers into work then change into smart shoes, Czechs come into work in smart shoes and change into slippers. People are strange all over the world :)

Tell me more about how you're such an utter hoot.

Whether I am a 'hoot' or not is irrelevant, I am simply pointing out something which the OP could use to stop the running that is annoying him. I'd not care very much about the h&s angle myself, but I'd absolutely use it as a means to stop them if they were annoying me.
