Opinions please. Trade my Aston Martin Vantage for Jaguar F-Type V8S?

Get the F-Type, easy choice really!

But do you actually need or want the V8, as the V6 is a good amount cheaper and also sounds fantastic!!!!

Keep the AM would be my choice, Top Gears review of the Jag highlighted a few flaws - harsh ride, crap boot space etc,

Wonderful noise, sure, but the AM hardly sounds poor...

I think you have it right already - ones an old exotic , the other newer but not.

The AM probably has just as many, if not more 'flaws', coupled with the fact atleast one of the points Clarkson raised, bad ride, is down to the road.

Hard choice tbh, i'd prob take the Jag.

I had a good look around the new Jag at the weekend at a wedding I was attending. Looks OK, but I am just not falling for it. I think the coupe is going to be the better looking version and I think this Jag is going to become a bit of a 'birds' motor, having seen mostly (very to fit to be fair) women driving them. I know that's all subjective stuff, but for me it holds little appeal, though I can appreciate it is a good motor.

I'm fairly sure Clarkson commented the road surface he was on was new and smooth yet the ride still harsh.....

having driven one yes it does habe awful boot space but no idea what they are talking about re the ride, it was fine

Well Clarkson was wrong, he said it 'looked to be smooth', he didn't actually do an assessment of it and realise what it's actually like.

People need to stop quoting Clarkson's reviews and assessments as Gospel.

Jokester and I both commented in the 'Top Gear' thread about that stretch of road around Glenshee being as 'rough as a badgers ass'. I drove it on Sunday and in my DC2 (whilst being tight and bouncy) it was one hell of a rough ride. Still a stunning road though, both before the ascent to the Ski Centre and a wonderful high speed drive on the way down through the valley.

I don't know how he thought it was hard. It's very impressive for 20 inch wheels, I assume it was in dynamic aswell. The one I drive was already set to custom dynamic mode that changed everything OTHER than suspension as that's only really sensible for track. Normal is perfect for road driving.
