Hi all,
I have found a company who searches and looks in to tax rebates for you, they have gone through my details and sent me a letter stating
"Thank you for your recent inquiry, I have now had a chance to look over your details and assess your eligibility to claim a tax refund. After careful review it would appear an overpayment of tax has occurred and a rebate would almost certainly be owed to you". etc etc this goes over a 4 year period. In the last 4 years I have pretty much been in the same job, up until I finished June 2013
I have to fill in a few application forms, they go on a no rebate no fee policy, think its something like 14%.
I recently spoke directly to HMRC after trying to get through to them (took ages on the phone) and asked them to do a check in the last tax year, they said I have paid the right amount up to the exact penny.
Could I undercut this company and go direct to HMRC? or does this 3rd party company know something I don't?
