can i play bf3 on my specs pc

BF3 runs at default high settings at 1920x1080 at 35 - 60 fps in multiplayer with the spec in my sig, with him having a six core CPU he should be fine for high settings easily.

What monitor do you have, Res ?

Looking at your rig it will be fine for BF3 (monitor depending), your best getting the game & trying it in different setting with FRAPs & then you can see what candy you can live without & what gives your GPU a tough time...

phenom II

It is confusing...

Its a Phenom II x 6 1055T (offical name)

Phenom is the series, II is the edition of the series, X6 is the cores (as thats how AMD did it then) and 1055T is the model. :)

Medium/Low.

35 FPS is not acceptable in multiplayer and I would avoid any High settings at all.

Agreed, BF3 multiplayer is super taxing. High settings may struggle, you really want as close to (or over) 60 FPS as you can get.

Yer that's why right away I thought dual core LOL

You can try high but you may end up with 30-40 FPS in multi-player, so i'd opt for Medium. Though is there no harm in trying high, just don't be disspointed if it starts to chugg. :)

FYI, I had a 5870 and it happily ran BF3 on mostly high settings with one or two on ultra with fps in the 50's. It could occasionally dip down to around 40 or so, but only when silly amounts of explosions and stuff were onscreen.

Iirc, I had shadows on low. Not sure about meshes.

I'm not a subscriber to the [H] point of view that anything under 60fps is unplayable when it comes to shooters btw :)

Funnily enough, even with an OC'd 7970, I now play with everything on low (textures-Ultra) and 2xAA. It doesn't make much difference and you're not blinded by smoke and debris everywhere.

Bottom line, Farlow: You can play BF3 just fine on your PC and probably not notice much difference between the various settings :) AA makes a more noticeable difference IMO, but you probably won't get away with it.
Not sure what the deal with your resolution is. What's the TV model# ?
