One thing I've learned from the "6970 beating GTX580 at lower price" rumors back then is to take all rumors as a pinch of salt, and simply wait for launch day proper reviewsSame here. Rumors say 9970 is faster than 780 or titan. I would love one for 3d gaming

I suspect the price of the 7990 has remained so high as AMD were shifting enough of them not to care. It's hardly a high volume part. That's they way it happens, why reduce the price when you can sell for more? Bitcoin miners hardly help tbh

Unfortunately that's the old model and isn't manufactured any more.
