Hi all,

Recently signed up to the forum after lurking for a long time.

Just thought I'd share a few pics of my cars - Skyline is/was running just shy of 500bhp but has now got clutch issues yet again (probably needs a new one tbh at a cost of many monies) and is pending my decision if to continue to throw money at it or if to call it a day and break it for parts.

S2000 is almost standard (bar k&n and few creature comfort mods) and will be doing a 3,000 mile euro trip at the end of the month going through the alps, touring italy, ending with Monza for the F1 and home via the nurburgring :D

Just thought I'd share some pics as they may be of interest - have some more/better pics at home but these are ones I had links to elsewhere :)

Cheers,
Alex

You win at having 2 cars!

Awesome taste! Insurance would cripple me on either of those, never mind both.

You sir just make those who require a 'daily' for anything other than an exotic look silly!! :)

I'll take the compliment here :D Friends think I'm nuts having the S2000 as a sensible car but frankly it costs me less than the 530D I used to run as a daily because I don't need to worry about resale and service history etc :)

Insurance not too bad as I've been running two cars for years so have 2 lots of ~8yrs ncb and costs about £1k for the pair.

Nice, kakimoto exhaust by any chance?
I quite like the wheels, very tempted to get some myself!

Good spot! Kakimoto Regu 06&R mated with a Bee*R style downpipe makes for great sounds!

Love the alloys on your Skyline.

Cheers, although what doesn't show in the pictures is that I had to replace one wheel which doesn't match the others - was always intending to get these refurbished to match and have yet to get around to it.

Nice R32. How much for it as is? :D

Probably as much as it is running ;) Value of parts dictates selling price unfortunately, a lot of these are being broken for spares simply because they're worth more money that way!

Will probably whip the gearbox off soon to find out what the actual damage is, clutch has only done a few thousand miles so probably broken fingers on the pressure plate or something.

All work is done by myself on the driveway so I'm slightly put off removing the gearbox again knowing how much work it was last time :D Gearbox weighs about 95kg-ish dry, not sure how much more full of gbox and transferbox fluid but either way not something you want to try to bench press into place whilst lining up splines etc!

Snap, only had mine a year or so and it is going this weekend, but it's been my daily drive throughout and been fine for me.

Done 24k ish in that time, a weekly 300 mile commute (just the single 150 mile each way a week) plus any social driving (which often includes another 300 mile round trip at weekends).

Been cheap as chips to run relatively speaking.

Really sad to break the R32 for parts, too many are going that way now and yours looks a peach, love the colour and wheels.

Thanks all for the comments, must say responses like these do remind me why I persevere to keep the thing going :) Will definitely need to give some thought if to break it for spares or to fix it though - knowing me I'll probably wait until the weather turns crap then fix it.

bledd - they are indeed Rota Grids in 18x10 et15. Couldn't ever justify the cost of TE37s in similar fitment.

Just a few more pics I figured it was worth adding to the thread :)

Fitting the gearbox in the rain on the driveway because the garage is a bit tight - wouldn't recommend it!

Great first post. Bayside blue on the R32? Great cars, would love to own either. I have become far to sensible, I will never get to own one. :(
