Basically, it wasn't supposed to happen... But I ended up with 7h connection flight in JFK... From 11pm till 6am...

I never flew a flight with connections in my life let alone one so long and overnight one...

Any ideas on what can I do to kill so much time?? I was thinking catching something into NYC but at this time at night it would hardly be safe?

I would be less worried about safety and more worried about what you expect to do at midnight in August.

NYC is great and all but beyond bars/clubs or sitting somewhere looking like a bit of a creep, I don't imagine you will find much to occupy yourself at that time of night.

Also if I remember right I'm pretty sure the travel time is upwards of half an hour between JFK and Manhattan at the best of times (it took me over an hour in traffic), if that is where you were thinking of going.

To be honest I would just stay in the airport, find somewhere vaguely comfortable and get a few hours sleep.

yeah, I think your best bet is to hang out in the airport. It will take at least an hour for you to get through security/immigration/customs/collect bag etc.

Then go get some dinner and beers, hopefully still stuff open then. Then find a quite place to get a few hours sleep.

Your 7hours is really only about 5 hours of usable time

You guys are mad. Clearly the best thing to do is catch a horrendously expensive taxi to Manhattan so he can say HE'S BEEN THERE. Seriously, do you want to be a yes man or a no man? Do you want to tell your Grandchildren "Oh there was this time that I had a stay over at JFK, and you know what I did? I just went to sleep. It was totally rad and inspiring."? I didn't think so.

YOLO.

Zefan :D

I've been to NYC few times so its not that important... I am just concerned with how to kill time...

Its just that waiting in the airport even for an hour gets me twitching but 7... Oh dear.

I personally wouldn't risk going to the City. It would be at least an hour there and back in the taxi... might be traffic too.

Stay in the terminal and play Candy Crush.
