220v / 240v

I thought that it used to be that UK was 240v and most of Europe was 220v then someone decided that if we all switch to 230v it will still be within tolerance for everyone's stuff.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about electronics.

The U.K voltage is actually 240V still, nothing actually changed during the EU harmonisation other than the tolerance (+10% - 6%)

As for the inverter, in theory it should be fine given the spec but I'd be a little concerned on it's accuracy and reliability given how cheap it is?!?!?
Maybe do some research on-line and see if their are any recommended inverter manufacturers.

20A fuse and 90% peak efficiency do not equate to a 500W output.
And what is "Twinkling Maximum Power" supposed to be?

What are you planning on running off these firestarters, sorry, inverters?

Nothing with much draw - phone chargers, camera battery chargers, netbook charger

lol
You're going: DC > AC > DC :p

Something like this would be cheaper and more efficient

That's OK for phones, but camera chargers are all pointlessly oddball and NetBook chargers would draw a few amps.
Better just to provide a 240v socket and let people bring their own gadget chargers.
