Birmingham town centre pubs

Been to Birmingham once and would never go again, full of "gangsters", saw some guy pull a knife in the toilets.

Last night at the circo loco event in Birmingham someone got shot as well.

Island bar, the Victoria, the Jekyll and Hyde, sunflower lounge, post office vaults, the old joint stock

Yep, CircoLoco has been ruined by idiots in the UK. I only go in Ibiza now, and I'm going to give it one more chance in the UK at warehouse project

To be fair events in digbeth are always a bit dicy,I spent a few years on the security team at the custard factory and you never turned up without your vest on

It depends, if you like rock music the Flapper & Firkin isn't bad during the day - Bacchus bar is a bit more upmarket & tends to be full of businessmen having affairs & hipsters (but it's not a bad little place).

Brindleyplace has a fair few reasonable bars during the day which shouldn't have security during the day & tends to again be chav free.

I take it not all your mates are going to be over 18 if you don't want places with door staff in the day time?
To be fair unless you choose a big football weekend then pretty much all of the bars and pubs in the city centre don't have door staff before about 8pm.

It will be a football weekend but it's not a "big" weekend as such. Of course we will all be over 18 otherwise we would be breaking the law.....;)

There's a brewdog in brum?!?! Quality!

Yup, not far away from New Street station.

Also, you have the Wellington (real ale), Old Joint Stock (a mix of lager, ale, wine etc), Post Office Vaults (lots of foreign bottled beer), Old Contemptables (Real Ale),

Lots of bars around too, like Pub Du Vin etc,

If you fancy a little walk, the back of Symphony Hall is a place called Bridnley Place (not far from Broad street - but worlds away). Which is a lovely little place, lots of places to choose from :)

Stick to the centre and you'll be fine. The pubs I've listed above should be pretty much trouble free :)

Shame too many pill heads go there.

It's not the pill heads you have to worry about, they're too busy loving everyone, chewing their own faces off and trying to climb into their own shoe at the end of the night to cause any real problems:D
