Metro: Last Night or Far Cry 3

Okay so i have both and just finished a game (SC2 HOTS) and im choosing my next one to play, Im at first check point on both but cant decide which to crack on with so...ill let you lot decide for me :p

Serious answer:

They're both very different games - Last Light is very linear and story driven, whereas FC3 is a lot more open-world, free to explore and take your own time with it (you can complete ~75% of the game after the first couple of "missions").

Both good games, but depends what you prefer really?
 
Metro Last Light, one of a handful of games I've completed out of the hundreds of games I've purchased and one of about 3-4 games I've gone through a 2nd time.
 
After playing both of these from start to end, I can say easily that Far Cry 3 was the superior game, with game play, story and graphics.

Metro 2033 was a great game, with a really good story behind it, but Last Light seemed to just be made to end, with few improvements over 2033 in the game play.

FC3 for sure.

While Last Light is great, it doesn't really have any reason to go back to it once finished, where as with FC3 there is loads to explore, find and more importantly kill!

This is true, I played both on PS3, and I know this is the PC forum, but the point still stands - I traded in Last Light as soon as I finished it, - once it's done, it's done (completed on Ranger Hardcore mode, so not even an incentive to go back and complete it on "hard"). Completed FC3, and it's actually the first game in 3 years of having a PS3 that I got the platinum trophy - that's how much it dragged me in! I've got it sat on my game shelf still to replay at some point too, so I'd say you'll get more for your money with FC3
 
Personally I preferred the look of Far Cry 3, Metro is very dark. FC3 is a bright, beautiful game world. Just be prepared for the minor annoyances such as quick time events etc. etc. But just roaming around the north island hunting tigers etc. was surprisingly good fun.
 
Both are great games and I enjoyed them both (I did prefer Metro, but they are completely different games). I would recommend playing both, I don't think it really matters what should be played first :P

Metro is probably the game that can be completed quicker (FC3 is open world so should take longer).
 
They are pretty much opposite (linear/openworld, cheery colorful/drab deppresing..), but both are fantastic.
So just play whichever you feel like playing now, and if you cannot decide, toss a coin and play the other one after you finish the first.
 
Both very good but also very different games.

My preference is Last Light but Far Cry 3 is brilliant, lots of exploration and will also last much longer. Metro on the other hand is shorter and entirely linear, but incredibly atmospheric and has a much more engrossing story.
