I got my first car! And what a car!

Love it - my 2nd car was a 1300 custom beetle. Of all the cars I've owned I still look back on that one with the best memories :)

Started some work on her today, started to buff up the paintowrk, got some of the overspray off the windows, sorted the seat positioning painted & mounted the front bumper.
I need some bolts for the back one.

The 56, soon to be taken apart for paint

Another update, I have coloured all the trim black and removed the chrome trim from around the windows.

I have taken headlights out for paint.

Here is how she stands now.

have you got afew links to the three different 'looks' of beetle, Cal/German/Resto?

I like beetles, but aside from the true dragsters, it's hard to tell the 'looks' apart?

DivineBeetle: THis year was BugJam 27 wasn't it? I can't remember most of it this year :) :D

Well, Genrally the main ones are(there are others though):

German look
Cal Look (with sub types like So Cal, Resto Cal)
Original Look

In order german look is generally, big wheels low profile tires, and modern paint schemes (including metallic paints) based on the super beetle, Its all about performance and looking sporty.

Cal Look is generally face down ass up (thats the way we like to....) and generally slammed Original solid colours, small wheels (usually based on very classic rims) and looking much more like an american 50/60/70 era car

Orignal look..Keeping everything stock or as close to.
