*** League of Legends ***

Your league placement has zero bearing on your skill or quality. Its the games played that does.

Someone with sub 1000 ranked games imo is not a quality player in the slightest, more often that not they still make the stupidest mistakes, never buy wards, never look at the minimap, fail to engage at the correct times, fail to disengage at the appropriate point, follow those stupid high elo guides on mobafire bc they cant think for themselves etc etc.

I think once youv lost and won a fair amount in ranked and start to understand what your doing wrong and correct it then you become a decent player - regardless of rank and with that you start to climb.

all this talk about hyper carries etc to get out of bronze is rubbish , you just need to play and learn and adapt. Not only do you help yourself , you help your team aswell - thats what gets you out of the lower leagues nothing else.

I somewhat agree. Though I have a lolking score of like 900... I play to the best of my ability sure I don't carry hard all the time and sure some of my plays aren't amazing. But then I look at the teams I get and curse like hell... I was playing blitz support and I had a lux that had never played lux ever playing lux mid first time in ranked... she fed... oh so very hard.. we won bot but in team fights we got absolutely wrecked by their katarina... Alas I just don't bother with soloQ anymore. I shall instead resolve to premade 5s which I play much better in anyway.

I have also started to realise I am a much better mid/late game player than I am early game player. I guess my early game needs a lot of work.

I've never experienced that before Tom_D. If it persists, it might be worth just sending a ticket to riot support detailing what happens.

In terms of easy characters to play, I would say Annie as well. She can be fun to play, and can be strong too.
Another character who I enjoyed at early levels was Teemo. You will have fun shrooming (Ultimate) everywhere. Most people hate Teemo though, and may ridicule you lol.

I don't know if i've missed it already, but there is an ingame channel for people to gather called 'ocuk'. Doesn't always get utilised, but you can get lots of people added to your friends list who also gather there.

I despise Teemo because of his damn shrooms and his poison attacks. So basically because he's Teemo. I never quite understood why he seems shunned as a bad champ.

I managed to play a few more games last night and I'm really enjoying it. I was playing with other people against bots just to pick things up and get a better understanding of how things work. The only thing that concerns me is the amount of different champions, it seems there's going to be so many different things to learn.

Would it be wise to just stick with one champion when starting out?

Because usually people pick Teemo and do badly so he is known to a lot of people as a bad champ.

This

a lot of people don't know how to play or even play against Teemo, he is fun to play, but annoying to play against unless you know how to then its easy.

Same as any other champ really.

Oh and people don't like getting out of a fight with 100 HP then running over teemo Mushroom to die lol

I dominate mid in ranked, come top in dominion and easily clean up in ARAM with my beloved dingerdonger :)

It's not how good or bad a champion is, it's how you utilise the gameplay, skills and oppositions level and style.

Tbh i'm gutted and scared about the Heimer re-work, he was my first champion years ago with Kog and they are going to butcher him by the looks of the proposals.

It's not that simple. Playing more games doesn't help unless you're specifically playing to get better. You only improve if you're looking for your own mistakes which is hard to don because it involves admitting that you're bad at the game. People tend to blame others for their losses and believe that their own play is better then it actually is but all the time you're thinking like this you're just adding numbers to your play count and not getting better.

He's seen as "bad" because he doesn't really fit into any team comp. He's odd in that he's an anti-carry but no decent carry would let a Teemo get near them in a team fight so you'd have to run through the enemy team to get to them. The only way he really works is if you destroy the enemy top lane and take them out of the game.

Yup ADC is definately a good place to start. And ashe is by far the best choice to begin with. Learn to last hit properly and you have ADC down xD

I disagree with this.

ADC is a vital role in the team and if you're bad at last hitting or generally bad at ADC you are really going to bring your team down and take a lot of damage away from team fights. Especially if you are new to LoL.

I suggest an easier top lane champion to get used to before moving on to ADC. Try Garen hes cheap and can be devastating, plus you don't have to worry about conserving your mana pool.

Thats not to say you shouldn't try ADC if it's something you fancy. Might be worth playing a few bot intermediate games before you move on to Blind/ranked.

However at the end of the day play champions that you like and find are fun for you. We all have our own play style.

You guys ever had it where you go to pick a champ and you just keep getting something along the lines of 'retrieving data from serverr' I had it about a week ago and just had it again. I choose the champ but nothing gets selected and you get banned for 5mins and points deducted. Seems odd as the next time i go on it works fine.

I had this on Friday night. After trying again it worked fine. riot have had a few niggles with their server connection so it may be a side effect.
