Hi this is going to be my first gaming pc. Please tell me what you think of the specs is anything incompatible, overpriced, unnecessary, bad choice, etc.
I can spend a bit more if there are any big gains to be had.

It looks good, though you could save a little bit:

4GB of 2000mhz RAM is odd, Ivybridge doesn't really benifit from faster RAM due to their chipsets so this RAM will be fine (8gb too, for less money): http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-033-TG&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

INstead of the i30 i'd get the Matterhorn Pure: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-037-AL&groupid=701&catid=2330&subcat=2337

People seem to be having issues with that mobo.

SSD is a great idea in my opinion

Ahh fair point.

I remember reading somewhere that it does come with the latest BIOS.

@OP i do advice, if you are tempted to order that motherboard you webnote OCUK first to ensure it is upto the latest BIOS, if not, look at getting a Z77 motherboard.

Same here mate, I've read that in a few threads, hence I was also using the IB/z68 spec.
