Xbox One controller expected to be PC-compatible in 2014, says Microsoft

Are people seriously bashing the fact they are going to make their console controller fully compatible with PC's?

Not much wrong here, the way the 360 pad has helped PC gamers play a lot of genre's (mainly non FPS) of games easier is nothing but awesome.
If people want to invest in a xbone pad, i wouldnt blame them at all.

Cool although doesn't really make much business sense from Microsoft, unless they're hoping this will encourage PC gamers to also buy a xbone.

I am somewhat confused, would it not be a USB connection? Why shouldn't it be able to be compatible?
A driver and job done? Or is the situation much more complex than I am seeing?

From what they are saying creating the driver and making sure it is fully compatible with Xbox 360 controller functions is no simple task.

Why is this news? The 360 controller exists, so whether or not the One controller functioning with the PC at launch or not is basically meaningless, unless they decide all ported One games will require a One controller, in which case **** them. (I consider that last statement INCREDIBLE UNLIKELY).

Frankly the fact they felt they had to announce this is laughable.

From what they are saying creating the driver and making sure it is fully compatible with Xbox 360 controller functions is no simple task.

This from the developers who said it was "impossible" to remove the DRM and many other functionalities of the One. Until they did.

Why won't it work from the get go :p?

Probably because it doesn't matter if it doesn't. As I said above the 360 controller exists now, the One controller won't be bringing anything new PC gaming with a controller that the 360 controller doesn't offer now, beyond being a slightly different shape.
