I was just thinking

I'd imagine the fail rate would be pretty high instead of using a machine that gets it right 99% time. I mean we're doing well I guess even but I wouldn't count of use not ****ing it up before the Engineers get back for tea and crumpets.
 
well it does kinda make sense the machine would have to have a very high degree of intelligence to locate resource,s and build in suitable areas and tailor everything for the specific environment/region/landscape.


humans would do all that for you but you might want to alter them so they're less aggressive.


unless a massive war is part of the plan, look at europe very windy and fidly then america with nice straight grids, after a nuclear war when things need rebuilding everyone is still relativly advanced and would probably rebuild on a grid system and much better thought out.

Adding to that imagine if those humans had an inbuilt desire for the precious metal you require/desire say Gold. You could make this desire so great that they will mine it constantly from day 1 but never feel there is enough. Gold is desired so much in fact that it's stored in the only building that can stand a direct Nuclear attack & is all piled up for you to collect at the end of the Harvest ;)
