HTC & Robert Downey Jr.

Idk, Samsung spend the big bucks on advertising and they have come out of it very strongly regardless of the actual product. Same with Apple really.

From my experience HTC have been rolling out good phones for a while, I've owned 5 phones from the G1 to the ONE and four of those were HTC.

Seems a pretty big investment when compared to their profits though. Still, hope it works out. My phone's an HTC too, and given how tough the things are I hope they stay a contender.

I think it's the only gamble they can take at the moment... I honestly just don't know what they are doing wrong, with the one x/s and the one I think they made two of the best phones that people seem to love but they're just not doing well.

Won't help too much imo.

Will help to give them more brand presence, which they are severely lacking big time! Hardly any "average joe" knows of HTC and they would view them as we would view ZTE, huawei etc. so hopefully when people see RDJ doing HTC ads, they will finally know who/what HTC is :p :o The network shops etc. don't help matters when they shove the HTC phones along with all the other phones and have the GS 4 etc. on their own fancy stands right at the entrance/door of the shop......

But they still have a lot to learn when it comes to advertising, marketing their products, not to mention "bribing" the sales associates, network shops etc. better! Samsung and Apple are so far ahead in this area but unfortunately HTC won't be able to compete with them till they make big bucks and that won't happen for quite a while, if at all......

One of the problems with HTC and their marketing/advertising, is it slows down over time and eventually comes to a complete halt so if they are serious about trying to get back to the top then they need to continue to advertise the HTC one etc. non stop, almost as if it was a brand new device that just released despite being out for many months now, Samsung and Apple don't hold back.......

It is a shame that they haven't done well for the last 2 years now despite having excellent devices overall and this year having a device that really stands out from the "usual" flagship phones.

Yeah, I hope it makes them less of a niche brand, as they're similar to how Giffgaff is to O2 IMHO.

I do admire the choice of Jr. though, as his humour should set them apart from the 'life accessory' that is Apple's iPhone for instance.

Wish they'd make a tablet though, I'd buy one immediately XD

Pretty much agree with this. The HO is my first HTC device & I won't hesitate to buy another, I really do like it.

I hope they can stick around & remain relevant.

Agreed HTC make fine products.

If they'd stick an sd slot in their phone they'd win a lot more sales.

Make it easier to root too!

I don't know that an SD slot would really win them any big percentages. I'd imagine the only reason Samsung stick with SD slots is because they are a massive manufacturer of memory and SD cards.

I think they'd win some of the hardcore market if they included it, You only have to see how many people chose the S4 over the One because of the SDcard alone.

Put it this way, I think they'd make more money if they'd included it. Cater for the widest market possible.

Mass advertising didnt help Nokia. I have yet to see any one with a Nokia Lumia phone in real life and that's not a joke. I dont know a single user! All i see are S3's/S4's and iPhones.
