Hi.

Looking at piecing together the essentials to a PC build.

I'm keeping my P90 Antec, my HX520W, and my HDD's.

Just going to build the basics and look at a new GPU when I need more power than a 5870.

Looking for something pretty rapid and future proof enough, I've gone with the K because as far as I know it's unlocked when the none K is not.

The mobo seems to have a lot of good features but is it overkill, will the D3H be just as good?

Here is what I have:

I need a good cooler, what sort of cooler is recommended? In terms of lowering the price but keeping performance and overclocking there I'd like to look at a cheaper mobo.

My case is an Antec P182, had it so long forgot the name of it.

Will that mobo overclock the CPU to well over 4GHz.

Nope, had this True 120 for ages, think I'd prefer a better cooler tho, this 120 and my X3350 at 3.7GHz sees temperatures hitting pretty high.

What's the main differences between the boards, the Z87-OC looks really awesome but is it worth the money over the cheaper ones?

How about this?

Not sure on a cooler yet.

The P182 will take a cooler up to 160mm in height, so might be worth having a look on the MM for a Noctua D14-NH or an Alpenfohn K2. So I would look at getting LP ram or nothing over 40mm in height, so as to not restrict your cooler options.

You rekon if I look for one of the Noctua coolers I'll be good to go with that set up?

I've got 8 days off in September so will be ordering around September 6th, and if the agency pays my bonus in then I may even add 250 pounds onto that £530

One thing I need to know, will it be powerful enough to run GTA V?

What GPU will I need to upgrade to to run it smoothly?

The D14 is an excellent cooler as is the K2, so either one would be a good investment. Open a Wanted thread in the MM and keep your eyes open in the For Sale section. If I happen to see anything I`ll drop you a note.
Your new system will be fine with GTA V, whether or not the 5870 is up to the task, I honestly could`nt say. As I don`t play any of these sorts of games, I have no idea of system requirements. I did`nt know GTA V had been confirmed for PC, I know it`s due out for PS3.
