Hey there, hope iv posted this in the right forum section.

right iv got a Jmicron pci SATA card with two ports on that i use for me dvd drives as my motherboards sata ports are all full.

and since i installed it about a year ago, iv got this screen come up befor my bios screen loads, is there anyway to disable this annoyance?

been meaning to get around to sorting this for a year lol.

Thanks

aww thats crap :/ gotta press a bloody key every time i boot me pc up, thats well annoying! :( aint there no way to edit the bios of the card?

there are two options:
1. you can disable the Jmicro controller in your BIOS
2. I am using the ASROCK MB, the "Disable add-on bios" option could solve your problem
hope it helps

With some add on cards like that you can disable the boot prompts from their driver software within Windows.

Certainly the case on the cards that I've used in the past. Never used a jmicron one though.

Just use S3 sleep mode, to cut out the boot altogether :D

i thought this but i cant even find any driver software, i just plugged it in and it worked, can't even find any software on the net :/

First - try to see in your mobo BIOS if switching "silent", or "quick" bootup would help (different vendors name it different way). It corresponds to mobo BIOS messages, but maybe it allows to cut other PCI card BIOS messages, too.

You need to find out correct model and vendor of this card. Then = goto vendor site and see if there's any firmware update.

You may inspect card manually - if there are any jumpers on it, it might help switching it (look @ jumpers description).

It might turn out card is not flashable, so no FW updates would be available at all. In such case you can always replace SATA DVD (I've seen only one connected) with ATA-one, if your mobo does have PATA connector, of course.

iv looked everywhere in bios can't find anything, iv got all the quick boots and everything turned on even the setting so it doesn't show the bios screen on boot, just stays blank for a second or two befor going streight to windows loading.

after the annoying screen im getting befor where the bios screen logo shows up that is!

and i dont have a pata connector lol.

iv looked at that website and for drivers ova past 20 mins, installed a few and they aint compatable, no idea what to do now.

Edit: found the latest drivers there installed, but theres no actual software though so no options.

meh lol suppose am just gonna have to endure it. or get a new motherboard with more sata ports so i don't need this sata card!
