can you boil an egg?

Yeah I do similar.... size and temperature of egg don't matter then. Pop them in a pan of cold water, bring it up to a full, rolling boil, switch off and think about making toast. By the time I've toasted, buttered and soldiered some bread the eggs are normally ready.

I want 'Dippy Eggs' and 'Toasted Soldiers' now!! :)

1. Go to fridge take out eggs. (The fridge is the large white box that sometimes hums, though they can be other colours and don't always hum. If in doubt place your hand on it for a few seconds and then look at your hand. If you hand is cool to the touch, jackpot you've found the fridge. If your hand is bright red with blisters that will be the cooker! If that is the case you need to ask your carer to help you find the cold water tap)

Adding salt and vinegar into the pan will stop it cracking.

Not convinced that actually works expicially if you are going straight from fridge into boiling water!! (As you should :p )

However pr1cking 2 small holes in the egg one at each end with a drawing pin / needle always prevents my eggs from cracking whenever I cook them :D

Don't listen to all these fools telling you to boil water on a hobb for your boiled eggd, OP.

All the smart modern people use a microwave to boil their eggs these days, no water required, just pop it in and set the time.

this, please. Don't forget to pop your phone in to charge it at the same time. Multitasking!

I think theres a method deliah uses which basically boil the water pop a egg in and turn off the gas and then time it. Tried it once it wasnt too bad.

*update*

i did it !!! :D

I boiled the water, i slowly lowered the egg in then cooked for 4 minutes.
i switched the gas off and left in water for 1minutes.
took out pan and placed in egg cup for another minute.
then took the top off and hey presto perfecto !!
