I bought the origin humble bundle, a paradox medieval game and Thief last night. I ended up playing Empire Total War...so play that.
Too many games, Which one to play ?

Depends on whether you want to finish a lot of them so you can say you have played them, or whether you want to lose yourself in something big (which only reduces you unplayed count by 1!)
Quick Wins: Portal, Portal 2, Spec Ops The Line, Alan Wake, Mirrors Edge, Tomb Raider (the new one), NFS The Run (maybe)
In between: Half Life 2 (and episodes if you have them), Aliens vs Predator, Batman Arkham (Asylum then City), Max Payne,
Lose Yourself: ME1 2 & 3, Skyrim, Witcher 2, GTA (any), Knights of the Old Republic, DOTA 2
Doesn't cover every genre, but it's my pick of the games

Surely "Of the GTA games, play Vice City and throw the rest away"?
Cant agree with that. The first two GTA games are horribly dated looking now, but anything from GTA3 onwards is still enjoyable to play.
