Hi all

I bought a Gigabyte 787X-OC to go with my new I5. However I just noticed that the motherboard requires a 4 pin and a 8 Pin ATX 12v but my PSU, an generation old Corsair HX 650 Bronze only has one 8 pin connector. Does anyone have any suggestions other than buy a new PSU?

Why would a mobo have two power connectors if it'll work OK with only one of them connected?

Usually the 2nd is only required for extreme CPUs and/or when your really pushing overclocking i.e. in the LGA775 days you only needed 2x4 pin in most cases if you were using a power hungry quad core instead of a dual core.
