Do you think most European Countries would give the go a head to use snipers with live ammunition firing on targets that are mingling with innocent protesters? :|
The Army are murdering their own people and no-one will stop them.
Please explain what you would do if you was in charge.
I feel sorry for those "in charge" at the moment - whatever they do they are going to look bad, they either stamp down hard on islamists and get world wide condemnation for being heavy handed or stand back while the country is destabalised.
So defending yourselfs against armed protesters who hide among unarmed protesters is a bad thing?
Please explain what you would do if you was in charge.
Was the military coup justified? Was the original protest by those that lost the election cracked down upon like this?
Why on earth would you give the old military regime an excuse to install a puppet regime which they will inevitably do?
The reason the world is giving them condemnation is because they are illegitimately in power by any democratic standards.
I wonder how many of the same people above sympathised with the democratically elected Turkish government when they attempted to disperse a protest with far far less lethal force.
It's a bad situation but whats the alternative? If the Muslim Brotherhood gets there way then it would be sharia law through the back door and 50% would effectively imprisoned in there own country, boom, civil war again.
Keep your Sky Gods separate from normal people that just want normal lives without religious hocus pocus intruding.
The original protests that removed morsi didn't as far as I'm aware involve groups of gunman firing on police/army - some of the videos seem to suggests some of the gunmen/rabble rousers in this latest protest are provocateurs whether army stooges or hardcore islamist elements isn't clear.
The situation seems a bit of the old rock and hard place for everyone involved on both sides.
These gunmen would argue they have a mandate to fight a military coup. The provocation was the coup itself.
If the military in say the USA suddenly deposed the government by force, you really going to call people exercising their second amendment right (designed exactly for this purpose) provocateurs?
Also didn't the violence only start with the attempt to remove people from the area?

You have an interesting take on the concept of self defence. Many people may think if the army wasn't on the streets doing civilian crowd control, it wouldn't need to "defend itself" in the first place.
Even Muslims at work I spoke to today about this said the Brotherhood should take a hike. Though that's the problem with a 3rd world mentally. It would appear violence is all they'll respond to.
One of my friends who lives in Eygpt says things are bad, but nowhere as near as bad as the media is making out.
He went to work today, and apart from a bit of talk with this co-workers, everything was as normal.
The BBC and other British news outlets seem to be backing the Brotherhood - why? Having them in power in Europe's back yard runs completely contrary to British interests. Let's be honest, if Egypt descends into civil war we'll only have one option - back the anti-Morsi faction.
Before anyone starts going on about democracy, remember that true democracy means a bit more than merely holding elections every X years - Morsi's changes to the constitution of Egypt are a slap in the face to those who stood up to Mubarak.
