********* The Official GTA V (5) thread! *********

It's hard to decide. GTAIV was an awful blurry mess on PS3, however this time around all of the trailers and screenshots etc are supposedly from the PS3 version which makes it seem like it might be the slightly better version this time. hmmm

i ordered for ps3. however would have got it on xbox as red dead and max p3 look beautiful on the box, i know red dead doesnt look as good on ps3, looked at max payne3 vs screenshots just now and still xbox looks better but only slightly.

reason i went for ps3 is because my live ran out this month and wasnt prepared to buy another 12 months as im going for a ps4.

What bits are you confused about? (I assume you mean things that the voice over has said and not stuff we don't even know about)

I think it's making more sense now that I've read a few previews. I was confused about the fact it was only 16 players, but I realise now that the free-roam mode you drop into is almost like a lobby in itself, with people coming and going as and when they join parties, or go off to do missions. I think anyway, I hope it never feels like you're ever really disconnecting from one world and connecting to another, it would be great if it felt really seamless.

I was also a bit confused about buying apartments. If two people who own the same place are in a game together, what happens then?

It does all sound awesome though and I've just renewed my Gold subscription in anticipation :)

just seen the trailer and im well impressed, not too arsed that i got it on ps3 now because that vid looks nice, its even in multiplayer where the graphics are usually worse.

co-op heists are going to be fun. well glad i went for the collectors edition

tdu style garages too

Really suggest you watch that computer and video games preview too. It reveals some great stuff

Oh fair enough, it was very vague and without research I assumed from the persistent world that is was EVERYONE, but I can't see that happening so a 16 player system would be more likely and like you say a drop in/out system.

I'm guessing it will be smart and know who has what so if someone owns something that you also do it wont match you unless you invite eachother outside of matchmaking's who knows!

Can't wait though I want my damn garage you all can have some crappy apartments :p :D

One thing I did like, was that in the interview between CVG and Leslie Benzies, he mentioned something about calling up AI characters (you meet more as you progress in GTA:O) and having them help you when carrying out heists and stuff. In describing it, he mentioned that you could do this if you're doing a mission intended for 4 or more people, but it's just you, or you and one other person.

I like this, I may want to level up my online character but not bother playing/talking with anyone, so I can go and do my own thing, or have people tag along if they so wish. Rather than feel forced to party up with a load of people I don't know.

I'm not a very social online gamer, I used to be when I played in clans and stuff, but not so much any more.

+1

I wouldn't mind helping anyone from here or people I know but would much prefer to do my own thing, I heard you can call in air strikes and all sorts! gonna be fun lol

Yeah playing and chatting to people on here would be good. I don't know if I have a headset for my 360 though, need to check when I get home. I think I left my wireless one back in the UK, and the cheap 360 I bought here probably didn't include one.

Looks old, we can just add names specifically for GTA5, I know there is a gamertag thread but that is for general adding...

I'm only going to be playing GTA and would be willing to play with you guys, show you all up and how it's done and all that lol :p

Why sad? I watched them about 3 times too just to make sure I got all the info lol.

So it's 16 players drop in/out system per world.

Everything you can do in the main game is a part of the online game, property, stock markets, car customization and people who work for you etc etc

Content creator that will get things added daily.

PVE and PVP elements as well as a very interesting social structure - player who constructs the heists gets all the money so then decides to share it, or take it all plenty of friendships are going to go up in smoke lol!

Voice recognition, so plenty of shouting at the TV

and lots lots more, yup...best game ever made then they throw in a semi-mmo style game to boot.

I feel sorry for every other DEV company on this planet right now, if they knew how far behind they are they would cry lets hope they can all learn something from R*.

The multiplayer looks extremely fun. I just wonder if its all a little to late though. This is out 17th of Sept, new gen consoles are expected around Nov. How many people are actually going to carry on playing GTA on their PS3/360, once they have their hands on a PS4/XO ?

I imagine a lot of people will be buying a next gen console which has no backwards compatibility so will be unable to play this. Unless R* do plan to launch it on the next gens and hopefully PC (Please release it on the PC PLEASE RELEASE IT ON THE PC !!! :p) I just see the online community dieing rather rapidly as most people will either trade in their PS3/360 or just not have it plugged into their TV.

Just my 2p
