We went to that shop last night lookin at VGA cables and walked away!!!£20!!!!!
 
I have a spare Pentium g620,if you bring some thermal paste ill flash it for you and bring the ivy cpu

I got a rev 2 a month or so back, it came with FB bios.You need FC onwards for ivybridge.
I would take Wazza up on his offer, otherwise I saw in another thread here that you can send the board back to Gigabyte and they will flash it for you (not sure on costs if any ...)
I suspect wazza will be quicker ;)

really??your a star!!!! might just bring the whole rig for you to look over lol

where can I get thermal paste from except from fleabay?
 
Yeah its working now,needed BIOS flash,one of the pushpins stuck on the Intel cooler but apart from that it went well
 
Yh just wish gigabyte would make pullout BIOS chips like asrock/asus do then you could by a pre flashed BIOS with latest BIOS on it and plug it in
 
I was hoping mine would be at least FC bios, looking at the manufacture date of the mobo, but its got FB on it from 2011.
 
There's no guarantee what BIOS you'll get with any revision really, but if the manufacturer website lists a released BIOS that enables Ivy Bridge support then obviously you might get one with an earlier BIOS installed.
 
Yeah. I think someone got one of those boards with the right BIOS, and because it was rev. 2 an assumption was made that all the rev 2 boards were compatible out of the box. I'd say it's safer to assume with any Sandybridge board you'll have to flash it first.
 
Sorry for late reply on update had a wedding last night!

Yeah wazza fixed it for me even though we had a prob with the fan getting stuck but bless him he stuck it out :-)

I am lookin at doin another build exactly the same barring the mobo need one that already has the ivybridge bio?
