Its a bit pricey but its the platinum psu thats doing it, but efficiency will save my money overall.

If I could get half the ram I would since I will be saving up for watercooling gear and could upgrade it then.
I will not be overclocking it at first but I will later on.

Any bad choices, hardware or money wise in this? Or any obvious upgrades I'm missing.

I'd change the motherboard to the Gigabyte one below. Uk RMA plus a very good and stable board.

I cannot see why spending £99 on that ram is a good idea. I've picked faster and cheaper.

The PSU is not worth the money at that wattage in my opinion. The Antec unit below is high qulaity and more than enough to meet your needs.

Any particular reason for gigabyte instead of another uk rma manufacturer?
I would quite like to have two 3.o PCI-E slots just incase I'd like to add in another card later thats why I picked the ASrock
The ram I choose because I prefer buying from the people who make the product rather than people who rebadge it because its easier if the thing winds up faulty and the PSU was for the higher efficiency I plan on having this computer last for years.

Assume you know, but that DVD drive won't be able to write DVD's.
Yeah I just put in the cheapest one, I'm considering just ripping out the disc tray I'v got in this ancient piece of junk instead.
Why swap out the ghost for the carbide?? It seems very similar to me.

If you wanted to Xfire then there are better boards. Why suffer what is, after all, a budget board. And it's micro atx.

The Corsair case is better built than the bitfenix, but case choice is subjective..if you're heart is set on the bitfenix then go for it.

You are paying a huge premium for ram that is low profile and energy efficient. Why pay the premium when you can get faster, cheaper ram from reputable manufacturers that carries a lifetime warranty. Saving money on the ram allows you to put a quality motherboard into the build.

Why spend more money to get a slower system?

The MSI board I specced has 2xPCIE slots. With MSI any warranty issues you deal with the retailer.

I specced the 330R because I think is a better quality case and looks so much better. It just has class. :D

Well I suppose it is quicker but I'm just wary when it comes to ram for some reason - I'll research it more
I don't want to Xfire, I'd just like the option, I'm wanting to future proof this thing

Well I cant get my hands on both of them but it seems very similar
That MSI board does look very good tbh
