Now I know why I don't want to become a PC Gamer!!!!

Please give up on the "google it" attitude! Nothing more annoying on a community forum where people are meant to help each other!! I have googled it and in all honesty found loads of repeat information that didn't work for me! I wouldn't be asking for help if I'd already found the answer! You'd be better off linking to a solution than saying google it! Seeing as you went to the trouble to find "many" sites with the solution it seems a bit rude you'd just come back with google it!!!

Although I cannot help with the question.

I would say console gaming isn't all trouble free.

I had enough trouble getting GTAIV to work correctly online with multiple copies running on the same connection.

Also when it comes to a big system link night almost every game has its problems - ranging from mismatched versions, mismatched DLC and just the fact that one person doesn't have an xbox live account (even to play locally)

Most of the problems you can encounter on a PC are easily solved, mainly because even with the console problems you end up using a PC to solve them.

Can the mods close this thread please. I'll use google to solve all my issues from now on......but if everyone thought like that you might as well shut the whole forum down! I can see this getting very sour.....although I don't know why so it's best to end it now.

Thanks to the people who did try and help though, much appreciated.

Yeah...teach you to go asking silly questions on web forums when the answers can all be found in obscure pdf file technical manuals on page 101 of the google interwebz search.

After you have closed down this thread admin, please close down the whole forum. Nothing in here that I can't also find on google. Everyone is just wasting their time.

no-one said it was a silly question, far from it, I had the same issue.

However being silly and overreacting to anything that is suggested (this applies to multiple posters) isn't needed.

I posted a video which gives a guide to getting it working and instead of letting me know if that was helpful or not you demand the thread closed, thus the next person who has this problem will have to start a new thread instead of getting the answer from this one.

Can't be bothered giving you any more help because I feel like I've said something wrong by trying to be helpful. Cheers.

Like I said I'm grateful for the help some people have given but I'm amazed at how little patience some people have. I meant lock the thread so it would still be on here but no one could post any more. You can't say I'm being confrontational when people keep saying things that they know are going to wind people up! And who said anything about a silly question?? I have used this forum on and off for over a year and found nothing but helpful members so I'm quite surprised (and disappointed) at how sour this thread has turned.

Boycey0211 I must have missed your video, sorry about that. I'll have a look at it. BTW, using google isn't a problem. Personally I like asking specific questions about my problem and getting help from forum members who know their stuff. If you think I'm annoying for not using Google then don't carry on reading the thread and leave it at that.

I've been grateful for all the real advice but "google it" isn't advice.

I would like to say sorry for my own comment at the start and also Google is your friend. God knows how I get through my life without that massive treasure trove of information! :D:D:D

Try gaming on MS-DOS any problems you have now will seem trivial.

Hehe or what about in the early days of Windows when your machine had enough power to run Windows, or a game, but not both at the same time :D that and the endless disk swapping to install bigger titles (iirc the original Theme Park came on 4 or 5 discs) and installing them was an evening-long affair :p

Or trying to get your soundblaster16 to work without getting IRQ conflicts :D

Ahh, the memories. Those were the days :)

:( I never got a soundblaster somehow, always had to pick between the "crappy" options, was it "Adlib Gold" or something like that? To be honest I don't think I really knew what I was doing with a lot of the install settings, many a game was got working by repeatedly re-installing or re-running the setup and trying each combination until something worked

go to ANY forum and you get people who are obnoxious. It isn't saved especially for PC's.

You are running on a wireless connection, it is not surprising that your connection is bad. Try and get hard wired. A quick ping and a responsive connection are not the same.
