Squadron 42 - Star Citizen : Wing Commander Style Space Sim

Squadron 42 is the Single-Player, story driven part of the game. Star Citizen is the Multi-Player part which is the Persistent Universe. Both are part of the game which is universally known as Star Citizen.

They are different Specs, the numbers aren't always necessarily higher = better but in this case the 315p is designed for Exploration and the 325a is designed for Interception/Dog-Fighting. The standard 300i is the lowest spec ship, but doesn't mean it's crap though.

The 350R, which you can't buy (at the moment) is a pure-bred racer.

But all ships can be re-specced in your Hangar to do whatever you want to do in the game as long as you have the parts/upgrades.

For New Backers, the $65 package is the 300i.

Excellent, thanks.

Im already a basic backer (35 bucks I think?).

Can I get the 315 or 325? or was that time limited or something?

Just a word to the wise check you pledge has the Alpha/beta access buddy. Hanger comes out in 6 days

The 300i variants were on offer during the official ship brochure launch, may be on offer again may not. Either way it doesn't really matter as everything the 325 is equipped with you can buy in game for example. The pledge bought versions just mean you get the 325 setup as standard rather than having to build it in game so no big loss if it isn't up for grabs again

Good idea. Just checked and have the following.

$Veteran Backer
RSI Space Suit Reward (RSI Class 2 Space Suit with Test Pilot Colors)
Hangar Fees Reward (Free Hanger Fees on starting Planet)
Original and Veteran Backers Reward (2000 credits, record breaker skin, AMX-1 Repair Bot, Squadron 42 Mission Disk)
Digial Bounty Hunter - LTI (Origin 300i, 2000 game credits, Digital Game Soundtrack, Digital Star Citizen Manual, Alpha Access, Star Citizen Digital Download, LTI, Digital Star Map, Beta Access, Squadron 42 Digital Download, Starting Hangar: Discount).

Ok so half the stuff there I have no clue what they are about, but surely the Alpha/Beta access marries up to what you were talking about HybridX?
Any details about when and what that is?

EDIT: This? http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Anticipated_release_schedule

So according to above it seems I just went for the 300i when it went on sale?

Just backed this beaut of a game.....first crowd funded game that I've ever put money into.

Also gives me a scope/project to build a crazy spec PC in time for release next year!

You've got the normal Bounty Hunter LTI package which is the 300i variant.

If you want to upgrade to a 315p or a 325a then check that you can buy the Pathinfinder (315p) or Arbiter (325a) package in the store and you can melt your existing Bounty Hunter package down into Store Credits and then upgrade to either of the two other versions, just paying the difference.

I'm an Original backer so my packages are slightly different prices and availability.

Just make sure you've bought a Package an not just an Add-on ship.

Some people have done that by accident and realised they don't actually have the game to play

But if I melt the original 300i Bounty Hunter package, wouldn't I lose all the other perks? I.e.:

2,000 Game Credits
Lifetime Insurance
Digital Game Soundtrack
Digital Star Map
Digital Star Citizen Manual
Beta Access
Alpha Access
Squadron 42 Digital Download
Star Citizen Digital Download
Starting Hangar : Discount

I cant see some of the above against the 315 and 325 listed on the store.

What's missing? I'm looking at New Backer packages and the only thing I see different is LTI is switched to 4 months insurance on the Pathfinder (315p) Arbiter (325a) packages as LTI isn't available to new backers.

Also do you have Pathfinder LTI or Arbiter LTI packages listed as they should be the same, with LTI of course?

I went with the Digital Bounty Package, $65.....said it comes with the game, Alpha/Beta access and the Orginal 300i....I assume/hope that's correct.

Yes.

You can confirm what you have if you go to the RSI website, Log In and check My RSI top right. Go to My Hangar and you'll see all you have in there. My Hangar is basically your account for the game so all packages/items/ships you buy will be in there.

Find your Bounty Hunter in the list, click the Blue arrow and it'll drop-down a list of items included :D

Yeah found it and its all in there. Very excited for this....time to start planning a new crazy rig and peripherals for next year.

If it hits its schedule release I'll be astonished.

I think mid-2015 is more realistic as the polish, complexity and scale of the game is surely going to put some "issues" in the way.

Which isn't a problem as I'd rather it was right than release it half-arsed like a publisher would want them to do.

Agree. Will get to participate in Betas etc anyway...would much rather an overal polished game.

Without publishers and investors, I'm sure it won't come out till 100% ready.

Where can I find if its Pathfinder or Arbiter? Checked Hangar but cannot find references to these.

My RSI > My Hanger > my gear. Mine says :

Pathfinder - LTI
Attributed
Created: July 03, 2013
Contains: Origin 315p Explorer and 10 items

Uther is there a "my gear" section? Cannot see it.

This is what I have:

Yeah that kinda sucks so I'll be giving this one a miss.

Thanks for confirming though.

When I say different prices I'm talking the odd $5-10, depending upon the package but not half the price or anything daft like that.

The LTI is just a minor perk and the Devs have stressed that in the grand scheme of things insurance costs are going to be tiny which everyone is going to be paying anyway.

There's a little arrow on the right in the My Hangar list, click that next to the Bounty Hunter part, you'll see all you have listed there.

You have the standard 300i package as far as I can tell, not a Pathfinder or Arbiter

Package Names

Bounty Hunter = 300i
Pathfinder = 315p
Arbiter = 325a

No 'my gear' section, it is there as soon as you look in the hanger, and where you see 'Digital Bounty Hunter - LTI' which is I believe the standard 300i
