Safe to say Ed Woodward hasn't had the greatest of starts to his Man Utd career. I don't particularly want either Baines or Fellaini but £28m is a derisory offer.

I doubt Moyes had anything to do with the amount of that actual bid. He must be seething.

Can't wait for him signing for us tomorrow mate :))) ))))))))))

It will all be resolved in the next 48 hours or so. Info I had at the weekend was that it was nailed on. Looks like his agent is playing us and Spurs off against each other now.

Either way, expect him to be a Premier League player.

I think people are placing too much credit in Dein or lack of such in Gazidis, simple fact is that Wenger gets to choose who we buy, Gazidis wasn't responsible for Wenger wanting to keep Diaby long past when he should have.

Wenger is the one who gets to set prices, he's given a budget and he can spend it how he wants. I personally don't agree with this, just pay an extra £5mil mentality, he's generally speaking picking the wrong players to start with. Suarez is simply the wrong player and I don't think we would have had to spend much more to get Higuain, it was us delaying that gave Napoli the window, nothing else, and again that is because Wenger decided to go after a different striker.

Dein/Gazidis get told I want player X but don't want to spend over Y.... Wenger's decisions, Wenger's wage structure idea's, Wenger's training methods, Wenger's inability to fix medical problems.

Yes, Wenger had some great years, these are long gone, people need to stop looking for scapegoats beyond Wenger because its clear as freaking day who is at fault.

If the board were trying to make a huge profit and take money out of the club, one, there wouldn't be £150mil in cash on hand mostly there to generate interest(which counts as income for the club) and also incase we drop into significant losses for a few seasons that cash would be used for loan repayments as we still have very significant debt(people keep saying our debt is almost gone because they look at total debt and deduct cash assets.. ie we have 250mil in debt, 150mil cash so they call it 100mil debt... because people are stupid).

Kroenke isn't financially mismanaging the club, and Gazidis fixed the quite horrendous long term sponsorship deals that Dein had secured... which have cost us easily to the tune of 150mil +(maybe closer to 250mil) since those deals were signed. Again, Wenger is choosing to spend most of our money on wages for the likes of Diaby, Rosicky, Djourou, giving Walcott a huge increase in wage despite absolutely no real interest from any other club for him.

If the club were at fault, where is it in Kroenke, anyone on the board or Gazidis's interests to offer the hapless Djourou, or Diaby new and better deals? If they were in charge and only about the money, they'd have shown Diaby the door, they are clearly doing what Wenger wants and only Wenger(on the entire planet) is deluded enough to believe Diaby at 60k a week is actually worth keeping around. How anyone can lay the blame anywhere but Wenger I don't know.

Look at all the decisions, tell us which one were made for financial reasons, and which are being made because Wenger is choosing to do them... its all the latter. 140mil + wage speed vs Spurs at 80-90mil, and people still can't work out where the money is going.

We've sold 100mil of players in the two seasons before this one and spent 110million on replacements... yet the squad is empty, devoid of talent, and the replacements haven't been good enough with crucially not a single( I don't think) cheapo player who is becoming a star.

From 1998 through 2006 we were buying guys like , Henry, Overmars, Petit, Toure, ADe, RVP, Cesc... selling guys like that has been hugely profitable and helped us out financially.

Who have we bought since then, Eduardo, cost a bit, left for less, Giroud... very little chance we'll be selling him for a big fee, Gervinho, paid more than we got for him, Podolski, nope, Arshavin, nope, Santos, nope. We had quite a profitable decade with many buys going for significantly more than we paid. No one we have currently has a value far and away above what we paid, or very few(Jenks would probably count as one). THat is another revenue source Wenger has destroyed over the past 5 years that will hurt our next 5 years. IE we bought Ade lets say 5 years ago, sold him a few years later for 25+mil profit. Who did we buy 2 years ago who we can sell next year or a few years from now for an extra 25mil profit?

haha, beautiful bit of back tracking there.

you don't say.

Judging from your wonderful posts on the subject if he signs for Suprs I assume we'll be straight back in for Sinclair (which no one has mentioned, no journo's close to LFC, no leaks, nothing.)

Believe it's been rejected.

Why do they need Cabaye surly tiote is a better fit?

For europe (IF we qualify). Tiote would be perma suspended in europe :p

I do like Tiote from what I saw of him in his first season at Newcastle, based on what I saw, I'd welcome him at Arsenal. How did he do last season?

Under preformed like the rest of the team. Tiote just has to run into a player to get booked. Not a nasty tackler like Cabaye

LOL Arsenal have just made a bid for Cabaye of Newcastle, just being reported on SSN now. Again no idea if he is any good, any Newcastle fans want to chime in??..panic buying now!!!111!!!

How can an Arsenal fan not know how good a player who starts every week for a decent sized club in the same league is?

He's probably played against your own team several times.

Cabaye is probably around the same level as Arteta, I would say he is better though.
