hi
ive been trying to decide on a 'new' graphics card but im completely lost!

please could i have some suggestions for a replacement card

the nvidia leadtek Win fast px 8800gts i had has died.
(i know this was a pretty old one as is my system but something a bit better would do me ok for now)

This card was fine for my requirements but i think i might as well get a vaguely decent one if buying another one, id like it to be as quiet as possible though!

i only have one additional 6 pin power connection lead available

(-type of use: single player, call of duty mw3, sniper:ghost warrior, splinter cell, etc. monitor is 19" viewsonic 924 at 1280x1024)

id rather get a new one too and could spend about £70ish

Any suggestions would be welcome

Thanks in advance.

Pc spec:
asus a8n-sli deluxe, n force 4 mobo, hec 550w psu, 4gb ddr ram (pc 3200, 400mhz)
athlon 64 x2 4800+ dual core processor, 300gb hard drive, windows xp sp3
(32 bit), Leadtek winfast px 8800gts tdh 640mb nvidia graphics card.

hi
thanks for your quick reply.
would these offer a decent improvement over my old card?

just wondered would the bus type be an issue?
i m not sure if PCI-Express 3.0 is compatible with my system, from what i can remember its just pci express??
cheers

As long as you have a PCI-E 16x lane, you're fine. As for improvement, huge improvement in IQ and an improvement in FPS however ultimately you'll be limited by your CPU as to how many frames you can render tbh (mainly the minimums)

The 7750 would be around 30-35% faster than the G80 8800GTS, and the 7770 would be around 80%-90% faster.

However you CPU could bottleneck these two cards, however considering you are playing single player not online, so it shouldn't be too bad.
