Indeed... It started off quite nicely, and then went rapidly downhill.
I suspect that series 7 will be the last series. The main stars are all contracted for 7 series, and contract renegotiation will inevitably mean an increase in production costs. Right now I can't see the series surviving that. The one saving grace may be the large proportion of female viewers. HBO has very few shows that appeal primarily to women, and they may be willing to take a small financial hit to maintain one of their big draws for another couple of seasons.
That being said... True Blood is starting to feel a little stale now. All good things must come to an end, and if the next series is the last then I won't be too broken up. I just hope that they go out with a bang, rather than the pathetic whimper that this series fizzled out with.
This felt like a wrapping up episode to me. I felt like they just did the standard lazy "and this is what happened to all the main characters".
I have to say that was the worst episode of True Blood so far. The whole season was very hit and miss but that was just dire. The werewolves storyline was half arsed throughout the season and completely pointless. Most of the Warlow stuff made absolutely 0 sense and they regularly contradicted themselves on him.
The whole last episode felt really rushed and rubbish in general. Shame really.
I know Anna Paquin had just had a kid and she had never been a pretty woman (In my opinion and being a butt ugly git myself) but WOW do they love to put her in scenes looking terrible. WTF was that she was wearing in the church scene with her hair up??? She looked about 60 and like she had been in Hilda Ogden's (Ask your mum who she was) washing basket. She has a great body but unfortunately her face and voice puts me off. Deffo BOBFOC.
