Man alive! Been so excited to order my new parts for ages, finnaly try to order them yesterday and my card bounced, so phoned them and asked what the crack was, they said it was flagged as a non typical spend so i explained it was fine its me can i go ahead. They said give it 30min and all should be fine, so i tryed every 30min for a good 4hours lol still nowt. Phoned again they said sorry we'll sort it right now, i try again......Boing! So figured maybe they've pulled there finger out this morning and still nowt :\ Anyone else had this issue? Theres plenty of money in there so i cant see there problem, useless gits!
Driving me mental i just wanna get my new system and get playing :'(

Nah i've been naughty with money in the past all i could get was a vanquis one. Just checked my build and the psu i wanted is out of ******* stock now too! Just to add to my happyness lol

Your credit card provider flagged up a suspicious-looking transaction??? On a high-interest card designed for those who have problems with money??? OHNOES!!!!111

39.9% apr! Why not just save for stuff instead?

Isn't Vanquis more like 70% APR?

I don't mean to preach, but unless you plan on paying the cost of the build off at the end of the month, paying that sort of APR over time is madness.

i pay it over 3 months whilst i agree with you all (its a frigging rip!) Im doing it this way to help my credit score. I started with 500 on it paid it off in good time they upped it to 1000, planned on maxing it out then paying it off over 3month then not using it again untill an emergancy. Aparently its a good way to 'fix' your credit rating.

I bought my 2500k on a vanquis card last week , no problem at all. It is paid off in full every month though.

if your phone number is registered with your bank/cc company they usually give you an automated call checking your transaction history and asking if the attempted transaction was you

I see no flaws in your plan. NONE AT ALL!

Yes its very easy to get one of these 'credit builder' cards, with seriously high interest rates.
What starts off as 'I'll use it for emergencies' or 'to rebuild my credit rating' becomes 'ooh look, shiney' and you can very easily find yourself in the ****.
Pay it off, every month, without fail, is the only way to use these cards.

My MasterCard has been being a douche recently too.
Turns out I reached the limit :o

This is why Amex>all

Barclays/Barclaycard by any chance?

Funny enough the call centre I work at has had a lot of calls this morning from people with Barclay cards whos cards arn't allowing a topup to go through onto the phones. Doesn't work when we try it either.

Dunno if thats just a coincidance or not though.

So you cannot pay off a CC because you have a crap rating, are useless at controlling your spending, yet are still wasting money on a pc upgrade and better PSU?

FFS control yourself and stop ****ing around.

Use your current computer, clear your debts, then save up and spend your money sensibly.

At the very least, pay off all but a small portion and then may that for a couple of months to build up your credit score.

I do think it would be more sensible to build up your actual money than your credit score at this stage.

Never, ever had a problem with them, in fact overall they've been fantastic!

Consider yourself lucky, the amount of times i've had to call their 'anti fraud' department is actually sickening.

My MasterCard has been being a douche recently too.

AMEX is indeed good for this, it however isn't good for other things, like not being taken for certain services/restaurants etc. Proof in point, the parking at Preston train station doesn't take AMEX. Pain in the ***.
