Making my second gaming PC, just about to order today.

Components with the * are ones I already have from overclockers.

Gigabyte Z87X-D3H Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
*OCZ ZT 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply
Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Case - Black

Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
*Samsung 128GB SSD 830 Desktop Series SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive
*Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2048MB

I'm after some advice on what RAM to get, thinking of getting 16Gb but not sure what to get so any advice most welcome.

Not bothering with a DVD drive, going to see how it goes with just Steam, USB drives, external etc.

Is that because 1600Mhz/C9 is lower speed but lower latency in comparison?

Yup, better latencies will outweigh any benefits from the bump in speed. C9 1866MHz is what to go for if it's the same price still. We're talking very small differences here mind you.

The only time this isn't true is with the APUs, as the GPU benefits from the fast memory speeds a lot, particularly the high end ones. Intel IGP doesn't gain any benefit.

The mobo you picked is SLI/Xfire capable but your PSU isn't man enough to support it. You can save cash on the mobo unless you think you'll swap out the PSU later.
