newbie here so plz be gentle.

its been a total nightmare, my 3570k arrived today, bios all updated and ready to go, but my god, i feel like smashing the whole thing up, took me 3hours to get it to boot into windows, i kept getting no signal on my lcd, then everytime i rebooted i get no signal again, every bloody time.
but yet everytime i took it out and replaced with my i3 it worked with no issues at all, i have tried everything can think of to try and get to root of the problem, but be buggered if i know, now the 3570k is back in box and back with i3 and all is perfect again.
i reformatted like 5 times already, getting me down now
what can the issue be?

msi p67a-g45(b3)
msi gtx 670 power oc
8gb corsair
coolermaster gx550w
win 7 64

throw away the msi and buy asus/gigabyte:D;)

put i3 in set to peg/pci gen 2 and then put ivy cpu/gpu in and see if you get display

try with different display ports hdmi/vga/dvi if monitor supports them

im using a lcd tv, its hdmi cable. gpu is fine as works a treat with the i3, got the i5 due to possible bottleneck. just wondering as i5 has on board graphics, wether its re routing to another port

don't you have vga? or dvi?

it could just be poor bios support idk,the igpu shouldn't affect things as that board has no onboard graphic support

could be the pcie slot sometimes they work in the one below, can also be gen2/3 issue now its an ib cpu

also clear the cmos to reset it for new cpu/gpu

its something daft whatever it is

i'll switch pcie port and see how get on

you could build outside your case temporary, its a major pain but would help you test, plus its quicker to box up if you decided on another board

try and pick up a used asus z68 v pro board imo, unless you wanted new z77

theres a gigabyte z68 also for £45 but you need to flash with the i3 to support your ib

might even be as simple as issue with hdmi, might work fine on vga/dvi but you cant test for that

Could do I was just thinking about making use of igpu, comes in handy sometimes, isn't the £45 gigabyte z68 in budget on here?
