Bradley Manning - 35yrs in the slammer :(

I dont know if anyone has pointed this out but Bradley Manning is compelled by international law to reveal these things.

But then we have fallen into the moralistic black hole now.

Brigadier general Robert Carr, a senior counter-intelligence officer who headed the information review task force that investigated the impact of the Wikileaks disclosures, said they had discovered no specific examples of anyone who lost his or her life in reprisals following publication of documents on the internet.

The marines who killed 24 Iraqi civilians including 7 children and a 76yr old man in a wheelchair at Haditha got a total of zero custodial time.

FUBAR I tells thee.

Lucky man has escaped the firing squad. He knew the consequences of his actions and now can enjoy them. Future traitors can take heed.

"Yeah let the government do whatever it wants even if it's illegal and you deserve to die for leaking it against their laws" - You

ITT Brainwashed morons,

BRB govt look out for me! brb nope.

War in Iraq was a load of ******** anyway, and 35 years? you cereal bro?

You're forgetting the government should be above the law but everyone else should be locked up for life or killed.

I am pretty sure that some of what the US Government did were war crimes, ( apache incident). Why isn't that talked about?
It didn't happen in their country so they don't care about it or think it matters.

ITT: This

Governments are all a bunch of corrupt dictators, democracy can never work on a wide scale. Politicians lie and cheat and steal, and kill people and conspire against anyone who dare expose them.

How is the apache shooting a war crime ? Yes it was a mistake and yes its unfortunate but it certainly wasnt a crime. As hard as assange tried to make it look like one by editing out chunks that dont back up his nonsence

Don't think anyone is saying he didn't get off lightly, what they are saying is that it's an abuse of power by the state and he shouldn't be facing so much time for exposing crimes whilst those who committed them remain free. The government have no accountability whatsoever, they can just bully anyone into silence.

Wow, the naivety of some people in this thread..
It's naive to expect the State not to suppress and intimidate people involved in the act of whistle-blowing. That doesn't mean we should throw tomatoes when someone stands up to expose them.

When the state acts illegally, it no longer has the right to prosecute the people who point this out.

I'm only sad that Bradley has to suffer whilst so many of his compatriots do not give a flying rat ****, or worse, support a Government in its attempts to rewrite history. Americans (and now the UK it seems) really will get the Government they deserve :(

Bradley though deliberately went out of his way to reveal things he shouldn't have, which brought international embarassment, and shame on the USA Government didn't it?

I don't think he appreciated the seriousness of what he was doing.

I'm surpised he got off with a prison sentence tbh. Most other people seem who intend to expose the government tend to die in bizarre circumstances.

He got off lightly considering what he did.

Nice to see Assange throwing people to the wolves and protecting his sources all for his little cult.
