**XBOX ONE** Official Thread

Given the power of the XB1 relative to the 360, I'd be amazed if it can't run the likes of FIFA14 and Ghosts smoothly as they're not exactly a huge step up in terms of graphics or complexity.

GamesCom has been pretty underwhelming so far but I do feel MS are having the slightly better show so far and they have listened to criticism well (shame they didn't get it a bit more right to begin with but we're all experts with hindsight). If they can launch before the PS4 then that would be a big bonus for them.

For me the biggest draw of the XB1 over the PS4 is the controller followed by Forza and Titanfall as well as the dedicated servers being available for online titles. The XB1 launch line up seems stronger to me and for all Sony still seem to have a better attitude to gamers, the only exclusive in the launch window that I want is Infamous which isn't out until next year.

My biggest attraction is the much better controller, the PS3/4 one is too small for me to use comfortably, and its worse each time I use it. I also believe the design will allow Xbox One to run cooler than the PS4, which means it will be nice and quiet. Then there is Forza 5! And now we get Fifa included :D

(I must remember GTA V before this. Haven't been this excited about games in a while :p)

Yeah I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! Told the missus I was going to take a couple of days off at launch to play games, she just smiled and said "I love you...... you big loser".

These controller points are irrelevant due to the fact that the DS4 is completely different to the DS3, so it's impossible to know if it's better or not until you use it.

Its barely any bigger - only wider, and the analog stick hasn't moved, so it won't be comfortable for me to use anymore. So it's not exactly irrelevant?

I'm not sure how it's completely different either. They adjusted the stick stiffness, tweaked the triggers but the layout is near identical and other than being a tad bigger the only difference seems to be the somewhat unnecessary touchscreen.

I'll get a PS4 anyway but I do wish Sony would just admit defeat and start again with the controller as I'd have loved to play The Last of Us with a great controller rather than just an adequate one.

It's wider and has larger handles, so this voids your 'it's too small' argument.

The analogue sticks are slightly further apart as well. I don't see how their position can be uncomfortable for anybody to be honest. You may prefer the left stick location on XB controllers but to say the lower left stick is uncomfortable just isn't correct tbh.

Anyway lots of people who prefer the 360 controller to DS3 who have then tried both next gen controllers have said they prefer the DS4, so I think enough has changed for it to be silly to right it off without trying.

maybe you are judging too soon, ive not heard anyone say the controller is anything like the ds3. just been hearing goodstuff.

I haven't heard that much at all, I have heard the DS4 is much better than the DS3 but the general consensus still seems to be that the XB1 is the best, just not by the same margin as before (although the DS3 did trounce the 360 controller for platforming).

I think the biggest difference is they have made the XB1 controller slightly smaller and the DS4 slightly larger.

Yeah, it looks much better for sure.

I'm not trying to be an MS fanboy, I've got both consoles preordered and happy to eat my words if the DS4 turns out to be the better controller.

I still prefer the XB1 controller and the whole xbox controller layout. Will have to see when they come out, but either way my XB1 is pre-ordered and I don't plan on getting a PS4 until late 2014 early 2015.

kinect and fps and other stuff

I couldnt play a fps stood up, it would also be incredibly annoying in gun battles having to take your hand of the controller or put it infront of your face for certain features i admire the ambition but its certainly not for me.
