MTB tyres from Evans

Cool i hear what you are saying.. Just that i'm not very mechanically minded and cannot be bothered with fussing around i just want some new wheels for my MTB.. which i also got from Evans.

One thing i can say is that they aren't that helpful with customer service.. been getting conflicting information from them via emails. They have been saying any 26" wheel is ok .. then next guy saying the ones i chose aren't compatible then the next guy recommended me some skinnier wheels, which i dont want. Never knew getting some replacement wheels was such a headache.

What other bike components retailers do you guys use?

TLDR: Evans is overpriced

Actually they had a 15% off deal on recently, it made them cheaper than the likes of Wiggle (Platinum discount) and CRC, so I used them for a few things I needed, which included a carbon seatpost.

That said, its not often that they are that competitive, given their size.

Could anyone with some expertise in this field have a look over my possible purchases.

This is my bike and specs.

Front wheel got buckled badly by female driver so i need to replace the front AND the back wheel as they are red rimmed and i can't get exact replacements so i was after a black rimmed wheelset. The also need to be QR axle and 6bolt disc brakes

Possible wheelset.

Does this all appear compatible to you?

That sentence should have ended, "if you're a road biker"

Don't know if you have noticed, but they are having a bit of a push on the mountain bike front lately.

They launched an entire range of DHB Mountain Bike clothing, they have now started stocking more mountain bike specific components, have a search for forks for example. They have also started sending out quite a few e-mails and blog posts with mountain biking advice.

Its obviously the one area that CRC has them beat on, so I think its highly likely they will start to match them soon.

Yeah DHB is Wiggle's own brand. The majority of it on the road side of things is very good and some of it often rivals more expensive brands.

Possible wheelset.
That wont fit your bike. The front wheel takes a 20mm axle rather than a QR.
Try having a look on chainreactioncycles at the easton wheels. I noticed in their email newsletter that they had some fairly big reductions on them (half price in some cases). Didnt pay much attention to the mtb wheels though.

I'm not sure what you mean. My current wheels are QR and on the Fulcrum spec is says "QR/15mm thru-axle adapter kit for the front wheel included". One Evans rep already said 15mm axle wheels wont be compatible and they need to be QR, so i presume mine are 20mm QR. And the 2nd Rep said these would work ok. Jesus i'm really not getting on well with this :(
