*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

That's a really badly coloured controller. Why even change it? The black controllers look lovely, there's no need for other colours IMO.

Because clearly it will be the fashionable thing to have ! I imagine these "new rave" kids buying them then tieing them around their neck and go out raving with their crazy coloured control pad :p

I like my white DS3 (although it does start to look a bit grubby after a while) but I'll probably stick with the black one this time round, unless they release another one in a year's time that brings back missing features!

Is no-one just going to stick with what they've got and play the likes of ACIV, Titanfall, COD, Battlefield 4, etc etc on 360/PS3? I doubt they'll be huge differences in quality in these first-gen titles.

BF4 definitely not. I want the extra scale of a next gen BF4 not what we had this time (though I did enjoy BF3 on both current consoles).

There is no way they will be that stupid, surely?

As far as I'm aware you have to talk your physical copy into a shop to be able to upgrade it.

Blue controller looks rather nice I think.

You would hope so! I've not had a big problem with the service tbh, it's the software that sucks in the PS3. Chat, messaging is much easier on the 360 so that's where Sony need to improve for me.

The discount applies to the download version of the PS4 game if you've bought the PS3 one, but it wasn't entirely clear if the PS3 version needs to have been bought from the PS Store too. I imagine more details will come out in the next few weeks once Gamescom is out the way.

Indeed, I've played a bit of BF3 on PC recently after getting it cheap in the Humble Bundle, and with more players and far superior visuals, it almost feels like a different game. BF3 struggles at times as it is on the PS3 so PS4 is the only viable version for me. Maybe they'll have put more effort into optimising the game for the current-gen but with the sheer scope and size of the game, I don't think they can do much to make up for the lack of power.

same , not really had many problems , the software is poor on the ps3 when gaming online , this is something I really hope is improved.

I've been in the PS4 camp since the reveals but the Online service is my biggest concern, now Xbox have revealed Dedicated servers im edging back towards Xbox, i would love to see some form of comparison and proper reviews before i make my decision. Im pretty sure Sony will have upgraded there online servers tons though. Also with the article i posted about Activision not talking about dedicated servers on PS4 is abit strange to me.

I like my DS3's still

You can tell I don't game much on the PS3 any more when I found out while watching the Sony conference that you couldn't actually listen to your own music while gaming. That's been on the Xbox 360 since day one. How has the PS3 never had that feature?
