Opinions on new MacBook Air

I went out to get the MBA on my lunch from a purple shirt place and they had none in stock, it seems no one around manchester or stockport have any in stock at all! I wanted the £100 cash back.

I ordered online through work in the end as I get a discount (same as higher edu) so it should be here next Tuesday. Woohoo, back to the land of OSX.
 
The machine can certainly play games no bother on pretty low settings. Minecraft barely makes it warm - and my world is quite full, but I keep the setting for graphics on performance.

Rather impressive device. :)
 
Gah. Guy I'm selling my MBP to is stalling, meaning I can't order yet really. Give him a week and it's going on the bay!
 
Someone told me the 13" is going on sale for £699 at one online retailer on the 2nd September. They're a reliable source as well.

AFAIK, Apple control the pricing of their products and therefore I very much doubt they'd allow such a sale to take place. It's never happened like that before as far as I know, and I'm doubtful it would now.
 
I would be quite surprised to see the 13" going for that price. If it does, it would probably be the 2012 spec? But I would expect apple to stop it with their control of prices.
 
It's 2013 UK spec with 12 months Apple Care. This is the model number MD760B/A. The price is defiantly going to be £699. I think this price is offered as part of marketing campaign (a loss leader if you like).
 
If it's a highstreet purple shirts place it doesn't matter anyway since there doesn't seem to be any stock anywhere which is why I had to buy direct from apple
 
Does anyone have any experience of the tracking system used for Apple orders? It has been out for delivery since this morning and I got a text telling me to expect it today but no sign of it yet. I've asked for it to be delivered to a business address so I would hope to see it soon, but what time do they cut off delivery for business addresses?

Out for delivery or dispatched? I got a text for dispatch, but don't know if they text you about out on delivery.

Mine is currently sat at Castle Donnington so it looks like its estimate of Tuesday is spot on. It's a bit of a shame because I work about 8 miles from Castle Donnington so I could've collected it!
 
Its out for delivery (still). I have since left work so I am trusting people there to look after it for me over the long weekend if it does turn up! I'd go and pick it up if I were you. It looks like they use UKMail, just enter your order number into the second "reference" number https://www.ukmail.com/default.aspx and it should tell you where it is

Sorry to ask again guys, but does anybody have any experience with battery life using a VM for basic usage (will be programming in VS at some point for educational purposes, but of course any type of basic usage would be the same, it's not CPU intensive anyway)? Still trying to decide between the two, and will likely go for the higher end model if battery life differences aren't significant. Thanks :)

EDIT: Figured that it is entirely likely that the i7 will probably take a rather large hit, and that I simply won't see its performance benefits. In other words, I would be taking a battery hit for no reason at all! So I have now ordered an i5, 8GB, 256GB 13" :) Rather excited, delivery is scheduled between the 2nd and 4th.

I finally got my MBA, can someone let me know do all skins and cases for 13" airs fit the 2013 version? Are all revisions the same size? I want to know so I don't order one that is a different size
