My only questions are about warranty and the dredded lottery of bad light bleed panel.

if the panel is not good enough i.e light bleed ips glow , can i send it back and have an exchange through overclockers or or possibly a refund ?

if exchanged through overclockers is there a limit with exchanges until im happy with what i have or do i simply go through dell if im not looking at a refund for the monitor .

A few days ago i purchased a Acer S276HL for £240 from a well known retailer (wont mention name as the 6 series can only be bought from them)

I was going to purchase the 5 series from another online retailer but though the 6 series would be better .

anyway i got it home after the collection from store and out the box it was just awful , it was so bright . played with the setting and i felt like i had a bad monitor , this is defo going back after i make the phone call tomorrow as the light bleed in the monitor is just bad and even with brightness down and the RGB is set to ycbcr444 instead of RGB and this gets rid of the IPS glow that is in one of the pictures , but the light bleed is still there even with the desktop on with a black image .

best i can get the monitor

notice the glow in bottom left

will be sending this monitor back get refund then try the Dell . as im wanting the 2560x1440p .

can anyone tell me if the ASUS 1440p is worth the extra ?

thanks

i recently brought a u2713hm from overclockers and i seemed to have been one of the lucky ones as my panel does not suffer from any crosshatching and only has a slight amount of bleed in one corner but nothing like your acer. however it is a fracking lottery though as i know someone has been through 2 and they have both been crap

You'd need to call the shop or send a web note to get these kind of questions answered. People from the shop rarely post on the forums

I have the Asus PB278Q PLS High Resolution Monitor (2560x1440).

Nothing but Positive feedback from me. I love this monitor and tbh If I was to upgrade I would think about Asus again.

Have you ever used the Dell ? wondering if it worth the extra ?

I wont be buying from here for £539.99 when i can get it for £85 cheaper elsewhere but still a lot more that the dell 1440p montor .

What also i dont get is the Warranty on the Asus , OCUK offer 3 year warranty , On the Aus webiste it says 3 yr warranty , but other online retailers only state 2 yr warranty .

Whats with this then ?

Do OCUK pricematch ?

I'm pretty sure OCUK do price match and I would always order from OCUK where possible as the're a dream to deal with.

People told me another company was better as thats where I got my 3XS System from... What a crock of **** that was they are very unhelpful don't seem like they care about any situation and well the're Just effort.

OCUK FTW.

I haven't used the Dell, But Get the Asus anyway haha.

Oh yea i totally agree with the company your talking about , waste of space .

if overclockers could price match then i could well buy from here .

Whats the case on Overclockers warranty and returns on this monitor if it has bad back light bleed or dead pixels ?

I'v made my decision and its defo the Asus im going for , but it is cheaper elsewhere but wanting to know about the exchange situation if i get a few duds before i get a very good one, as im determined not to give up until i get a good one but dead pixels is a proper no go for me .

Call them and ask. This is just a forum under the OCUK banner, the shop staff rarely read threads like yours.
