Sorry if this isn't the correct area

A week ago my H100 manufacturer refurb came.

I installed the cooler but when I went to power on I got no power what so ever. I removed the cooler and put the stock intel fan back in. I got power this time but both of my hard drives where no longer detected.

I RMAed both the cooler and the hard drives.

I received my new cooler today. I installed it again, double checked all connections and again got no power when i went to turn the system on.

I doubled checked to make sure I had installed it correctly and I also tried with a different PSU which made no difference.

I'm using Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 motherboard.

Any thoughts on if what could be causing the problem or is it the cooler itself again?

I take it you have connected the 4 pin power cable?

The final step is to plug in the power cable for the pump. The power cable for the pump has two connectors, one will plug directly into your PSUs 4-pin peripheral cable, and the other will plug directly into your motherboards CPU 4-pin fan header. The H100 is powered by the 4-pin peripheral cable, while the 3-pin fan header sends pump RPM information to your motherboards BIOS.

I'll check that when I get in tonight.

The strange thing is I get no power what so ever. Some of the fans wobble ever so slightly but apart from that I get nothing.

Could a loose molex stop all system power?

Maybe the molex is wired wrong.
I once used a power lead from a different psu seasonic>corsair and the system would not fire up, rewired it and all was fine.

Yh molex I refer to is the molex on the H100.

Its a sata connection on the H100i...wonder why?? lol...

I found the slightest bump seemed to disconnect the power....although it was firmly connected.

On a standard H100 install you should have 4 connections:

Pump to molex
Pump to fan header
2 x Fans on rad.

Try running it without the pump molex connected.

Without the pump running you'll be ok to power up and see if it starts, although I wouldn't go any further. A game of BF3 is a definate NO! ;)

The fluid in the pipes/rad will absorb heat for awhile.

Let us know if this powers up.

Well i had a play about with the molex last night and this morning and i have it up and running, all fans are spinning and its dropped the cpu temp down by about 10-12 degrees. The only thing is i have no lights on the pump and no control over the fan speed

Let's try re setting the unit and see if this will fix the issue;
To reset the firmware, use the following procedure:
1. While the computer is running, hold down the profile button for approximately five seconds
2. Wait one minute, while the unit continues to run
3. Shut down your computer
4. Press and hold the profile button for five seconds while turning on the power to your computer.

Yeah that was with the molex plugged in.

My power supply is Thermaltake Smart M550W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply

thanks for the suggestion greybeard I'll give that a go tonight when i get in from work
