AMD To Commence Mass Shipping of Hawaii GPU in Early October

Well I wont upgrade till xmas anyway, so will have plenty of time for prices to settle and hopefully thinking £350 max though I may be looking at the 9950. Also keeping my eye on 7950 pricing and may yet go xfire which I suspect will better the new cards performance. :)

same im holding out till xmas. the jump from my 6970 crossfire dont seem tempting. I was hoping to miss 2 generations but i dont think my 6970's can hold out for that long.

I doubt it is, not even a Titan is significant as an upgrade if you ask me.
it also for me is about the OC ability and if they did some work on the GCN that might pursuade me, but as far I might look into upgrade the cpu first...and watercool the 7970 ;)

Much easier when the cards are out though to decide.

All i care about is ... Will they clock good ?? :D

If not i will get another 7950 with WC :P
 
Ive started buying parts for my new build and i think i will just leave the gpu option until last, im not tied to one brand tbh so if nvidia drop the 780 price i will have a few options available anyhow :D

Definitely the gpu as far as I know none of the amd 7*** show bios on the 2012 Panasonics.

Some sort of compatibility issue between them.

It's weird because same tv works with all other cards and 7 series amds work fine on most other tv's.

hopefully the 9 series will show bios for me :) (if not I'm going back to nivida)

Yes just the 7 series and 2012 panasonics have issues together.

My 6 series amd card also works fine with the tv.

Shipping to retailers in October, that's great but not unexpected. early, mid, or late October that is the question that needs answering, if it's too late then it might be availability in December at this rate.

I really do hope this isn't the way things are going to be done from now on two years between products, but of course now one side has done it the other side will likely follow.
 
Going to skip this gen having just recently bought a 2nd 7970, but hope that the price is well below £500, preferably closer to £400 as the high end pricing really needs a shake up as getting out of control.
 
£300-£450 possibly! I want to see a 9970 Asus matrix platinum!
BF4, the amd games bundle also :O Fingers crossed AMD does it right
