So I made a thread last week asking for a £1000 spec.

My budget has gone up quite a bit to £1500 now. So I was wondering whether this spec would work?

1 x Alpenföhn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler £59.99
Total : £1,572.78 (includes shipping : FREE).

Would the case be big enough and cool enough? And would I have enough power? In future may also look to add a second 7990.

Lovely spec, the K2 cooler maybe too big with the tall ram, a Corsair H100 will fit in the case.

Im also wondering if the PSU is enough for two 7990?

Would you advise opting for the alternate cooler or change the case. I'm open to suggestions...

Myself i would say change the cooler, The D14 is a Fantastic cooler

And with a 7990 you will be able to play at 5760x1080 tuning a few settings if you want a higher fps but would pretty much play perfectly maxed out

Nice spec

I like the case too :)

Would I need any additional fans to keep it cool rather than relying on the stock ones?

I would wait until you have it all up and running first. Looking at a couple of reviews, it seems to do very well in the thermal testing. But you can always add more fans if you feel you need to, at a later date.

Have you taken a look at the Cooler Master Haf X case ? Its pure sex.

Its big and very very spacious, I highly recommend.

I was also looking at another case a while bike that was similar to the Haf X, it had a spot in the top where you could have another PC, but I cant remember its name.

Why are you getting a 500gb SSD ? what will you be running off the SSD?

I only use my SSD for the OS and tbh thats all is needed, and for that price I would knock down to a 128gb SSD and use that money on something else? 27" monitor ?

The K2 will still not fit in that case, as I mentioned in post #4.

Sorry, my bad. I somehow read that yet it slipped my mind. Thanks for reminding me!

I'm looking to use the SSD for my OS and all my games/programs and use the HDD for films and other boring stuff.

Hopefully this will keep everything running fast :)
