Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [24 - 26th August 2013]

Convincing? Considering we played like dog ****, had our star signing on the bench and the ref was giving everything the other way.. Yes.

I'd say a draw would have been a fair result given how scrappy it was.

Although their goal came from a dive they should've had a pen first half. Spurs didn't do much, but nor did Swansea

I know, which is why I'd say a draw was a fair result.

You can't account for **** poor refereeing.

Sweet jesus I hope we never get an owner who does that

Spur should've had a penalty, got one and scored, Swansea didn't do anything to warrant a goal so no a draw wouldn't be a fair result, Spurs won and rightly so.

Purdy did you watch the same spurs game as me ? Paulhino missed 2 sitters , Dembele missed a decent chance and thats just off the top of my head

Not too sure after that match. Swansea looked to pass the ball a lot better than us in the second half (but I don't think many teams pass the ball better). Ref was shocking.

A fair result in the end, but we need to keep the ball a lot better against higher quality teams if we are to finish 4th+. Also somebody to fill in the no10 gap behind Soldado would be fantastic, he doesn't seem to be getting the service he needs atm.

city need to spend some money imo...

oh wait :D

Just on my way back from the Spurs vs Swansea game. Not a great game with very few clear chances created. Still, I'm happy to see Spurs grind out results until the new players bed in.

Paulinho looks like a class act and Saldado is the number 9 that Spurs have been missing. Capoue looks brilliant defensively but he's not a great footballer. I expect he'll play understudy to Sandro eventually. Chadli looks distinctly average.

I've never been a fan of Townsend but we need a player like him in the team. He was easily our most positive player today. Very direct compared to our other players today. Still not convinced by Rose though. He has a tendency to dive in recklessly.

3rd place will do for the rest of the season. :)

Just to balance that... Manyoo fans would be defending De Gea to the hilt if he'd had a howler when Ferdinand and Vidic were injured...

He did have howlers and the whole world declared him a flop and that he should be sold, he had only played a handful of games, have you forgotten how awful he is on crosses and not tough enough for the PL?

No Kompany = can't defend for ****.

This, without him they cant defend for ****, what a win for Cardiff though...epic absolutely epic.

Was hoping Swansea would have at least got a point from the Spurs game but as i said 2 games in and they dont look very good at all sadly. No doubt they will come to the Emirates and give us a hiding:p
