BBC's slightly sarcastic captions or idiocy?

So, being bored today I have a quick browse of today's news.

Being highly interested in the financial aspects of CD's, I read today's article. Yes I would like to know where £8 goes!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23840744

About halfway down one of the pictures (clearly a stock image) is a woman gleefully inspecting said media, with the caption 'this woman is still delighted by physical media'

I laughed, then wondered if this is the way things will be from now on, slightly sarcasting or is it a genuine comment? If it is I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Any others you have spotted?

Just read the article. Saw the caption, laughed, searched Google for the quote and made it back here :-)

The way that the BBC do their articles makes me crease. The one that really grinds my gears is when every single title has something in inverted commas i.e. 'Bomb' may have 'been dropped.'

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds every single captioned photo on that news website to be in some sort of way sarcastic or a not-so-subtly disguised hilarious insult.

Since at least 2003 I've been imagining what the smug sod who writes them looks like. I bet it's a woman, and I want to sleep with her.

I may have exaggerated slightly. Just not reading the news would be a better solution.

no you didn't exaggerate at all. you just got swept up in the internet idiocy along the lines of FML, LOL, icanhazcheeseburger, reddit everything is EPIC......don't worry when your mind matures you'll snap out of it :p

There does seem to be a requirement that every BBC article needs to have a photo attached for some reason. Quite a lot of this time that involves a stock image and a pointless caption.
