Best way to stop the fan noise?

So, get that GPU fan. Get a few more case fans. Hopefully that will be fine and dandy.

I priced up a decent amount of quality foam silencing material last year and it worked out almost as cheap to just a buy a fractal R4 that's already silenced, which is what i did.

Yes they are identical. Remove the second link though, it's a competitor

Opps, removed. Unfortunately - the only place I can go for this is a competitor. OC don't know when/if they are getting any more in stock. Don't want to wait for ages.

I'm looking at purchasing this cooler too; I asked OCUK and was told "no stock has been placed but if we are the website should say in the next 2 weeks".

It's on my G510 keyboard. C2DtoG15 applet

Very handy when gaming. I don't like stuff on the screen itself.

Ok, just bought the Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo II VGA Cooler from another website. Should be here in a few days. Hopefully now I can play some games without needing my headphones on.

Probably going to wait a month and then see what else I need. Hood keyboard (mines just an old dell one) few more fans to really cool it off. Maybe a fan controller.
Hopefully I can hurry up and get a Loyal Member so postage is free

Just fitted the Arctic. Wow. Thank you so much for recommending it, i put it on 100% speed and can barely hear it.

I had a Arctic cooler on my 7850 last year and it was one of the best things I've ever bought. Those cooler are great for ref design cards.

That stock fan is a noisy beast. The arctic does weight down the card a bit, hopefully its not damaging it in anyway.

The cooler is heavy, but you could try to get a backplate for the 7870. That would help keep it straight and not sag.

My 6950 sags a bit but I use the power cables to hold it straight

I wasn't too bad. I opened a thread on here because some of the instructions weren't clear, but got no responses so I just did what I thought was best. Worked out okay.
