I know it's all speculation at the moment but i have pre ordered a 7970 so just wondered in real terms how much better the new amd card for the same sort of money will be? Upto 300 so guessing that would be a 9950

That's what I figured but going be leaked spec's just wondered if anyone could give me a rough Idea % wise so I could decide whether to cancel or just keep with the 7970

No one knows what price the next cards will be, 260 quid for a 7970 is very good price/performance, the 9970 is going to be less price/performance, the 9950 might only match the 7970 in price/performance.

Just stick with the 7970 in all honesty, jump at 20nm though.

It's a little weird since the cores have a fair amount left in the tank.
A 5870 wasn't much slower than a 6950.

So they'll likely clock these cards up to make the difference seem bigger.

But they've got limited room, and can't exactly make the 9970 a monster (Given you know, we're 2 years on almost from the 7970's début) so even if they managed to make it faster than a 7970 by about 30% and the 9950 faster by 20% you'll be paying for it.

If you are unsure about getting 7970 then I would wait its not long to find out!
I see lots of 7970/50 dropping loads in price when new 9970/50 come out

Time will tell

I hope Amd price 9900s wisely so to make nvidia lower prices so everyone on red & green
team win

Yeah I hate the waiting game lol. But going by nvidias last release the isn't exactly a major increase
