HD 7950 OC'd 2013 benchmarks?

7950 oc is faster than a 670 in bf3 and most games oc.

if you get a good clocker it will probably beat most 680s as well.

i benched mine against a kaf 2gb 680gtx more or less same fps except in bioshock mine was quicker and in bf3 and last light metro mine was close to 5 fps quicker.

on avg at 1080 difference from 6950 same res is 40 percent with new drivers was 30 percent with older drivers.

You reckon the 7950 will hit 140 ish once AMD 9000 come out? If so I'll be willing to bloody wait! :) It should be a few month before it releases right, and I can use my i5 adequetly until then

Thats strange, I benched my 670 against 5 friends 7950's ( all different versions ) and in bf3 alone the kfa2 670 oc was minimum 7 fps faster average 15 fps faster and max 9 fps faster. Never mind crysis 3 , farcry 3 , company of heroes 2 , payday 2 , gta4. Hitman and sleeping dogs Extreme settings were faster on the 7950 by a mile though. And metro was about even at ultra settings.

To the OP you cannot go wrong with a 7950 and although in my findings bf3 was faster on the 670 it made little difference in the game as the low fps was 51 on the 7950 vs 58 on the 670 ultra settings and msaax4.

my 670 was 1189 ( as thats all it can do ) Memory was 7ghz

the 7950's were overclocked by thier owners to between 1100mhz and 1200mhz and one card did 1240mhz the memory on the 7950's was not as overclockable though.

To be fair the friend who had the msi card that did 1240 wanted to swap his for mine untill he saw the hitman and sleeping dogs benchies as thats what he played the most. Bf3 is my main game so the 670 was just better.

I think this was on 314.22 nvidia drivers and the 13.4 beta amd ones.

Anything under £200 a 670 or a 7950 is a good deal, the 7950's with the games makes the deal even better value so i would reccomend a 7950 over a 670 anyway as like you say, they are pretty much equal overclocked. I would not say that either card beats the other card in all games even though the 670 has the edge its hardly worth bringing up ( unless the 7950 is quoted to be faster full stop than a 670 )

I think you're reading my posts wrong mate.

That was just a question to Ian, there was no criticism or AMD fandom. Like I said earlier, they're all much of a muchness.

Oh, and lolwut?

I don't know... I think you're coming of as arrogant and big headed with sentences like this:

It's not that simple.

Who cares, it's not what you meant so I don't really mind :P

The fact is it isn't that simple. Take it how you want to take it :)

It's not that simple
Do you remember what clocks were being run, Ian?

If you've managed to take these sentences as big headed and arrogant, wow is all I can say.

I don't think it''s worth the extra and I've had both 7950 and 7970.

Yes, the 7970 is a little bit faster, but not to a really noticeable degree outside of benchmark bragging rights.
Saying that, my 7970 clocks a fair bit higher than the '50 did, so I can see a little bit of a difference in more demanding games.
But that's the luck of the draw. Loads of 7950's here can clock way higher than the one I had.

Is an extra 5 or more fps at the same clocks worth £70-100 to you?

Yep you've just confirmed my choice. Definetly 7950 haha :)

I'll just wait around a bit, I've got to deposit monies to purchase i5s and i5s and i5 mobos and i5s.... and gpus later! :)

What FPS could I get recording bf3 in ultra w out MSAA and what fps on arma 2 (without recording) combined with a i5 4670k

I run BF3 in Ultra and MSAA disabled, everything at stock on my MSI 7950 OC BE on my older rig (Q6600 @ stock) FPS are around 90 max, 45 min, 70 avg on single player (broadband went down yesterday) and around 80 max, 30 min, 55/60 avg on multiplayer... I obviously have a few bottlenecks as using an old system, but very playable compared to the 4870 it replaced! ;)
