Just when you thought Ebay couldn't get any more seller unfriendly....

Sure, have a search for a local group, join it and get posting.

Ah do you mean local groups called classified or basically local interest groups based on what I'm selling or buying, for example, "computers"?

It does seem like Ebay is trying to rid itself of the very core that made them with this 'buyer-centric' viewpoint. I kinda see why in a business sense. They'll always be sellers IF there are buyers so keep the buyers happy at all costs.

Personally I like the little shops though. I've been buying lots of little electronic components, shipped from HK. Mostly because of the cost. I can get 100 LEDs, delivered for the price of 5 in the UK.

As for the alternatives, All the ones I can think of have been mentioned. I do think that eventually Facebook will notice the opportunity and may start an ebay rival at which point other large companies like Google will kick in too.

Sold a lot on gumtree, highest value item around £2,000. Had no problems at all. I rarely will use ebay to sell given the fees and potential for someone to raise a dispute.
